Hi! I’m Jodi! 🙋🏼♀️
I’ve been grateful to be in the event business since I was five. Seriously. I grew up with event planning parents who also deeply valued community service. For me, it’s nature and nurture.
Here are some quick deets…
✨ So Cal native transplanted to Northern California for college (Go Wildcats!) and never left.
✨I launched CES in 2007. Our amazing team has planned/supported over 500 events!
✨My most favorite thing is being mama to Parker (16) and Bailey (12).
✨I found love again at 45 with Dave, a true extrovert… which has been an opportunity for growth for me as an introvert.
✨I deeply believe we are all called to serve our community.
✨I drink hot coffee even when it’s 100° out.
✨While outdoorsy things are not at the top of my list…I love being near water.
✨I am a recovering people pleaser and continue to have opportunities to reframe thoughts of self doubt and imposter syndrome.

I’m a little late, but wanted to wish the Mayberry’s a very happy anniversary!
I feel like I say this every year but these two, and their family, came into my life at a time where I needed them as much as they needed me. I am so grateful for their continued friendship and the opportunity to watch their family grow.
The 3rd photo is from their welcome tailgate party. Jess & Ben both worked for the 49er’s so it only made sense that we surprised them with our team wearing jerseys with their nickname and wedding date. Still such a sweet memory!

PRO TIP: Take the getting ready photos!
In the past, I would occasionally get clients who wanted to skip getting ready photos. I always advised against it, because to me, they are part of the story of the day.
The anticipation, the nerves, the relationships, and the peace.
These photos of Colleen and Trent are so representative of who they are to me. Colleen is beaming with excitement and Trent is making sure every detail is the way it was intended to be.
Honestly, the day goes by so fast, for some of my clients, the morning is what they remember most. Don’t miss out on having that captured!

When I first started working with Liz and Andrew, we were venue shopping in their home town of Carmel. Throughout the day, as we toured many beautiful properties, we had discussions about what their dream experience would be for them, and their loved ones.
At one point, they somewhat jokingly, said, “We’d actually love to get married in Mexico!” I had just returned from a trip to Cabo and looked at them with a smile and said, “Let’s do it!“ Once we got some other key folks on board, we began planning.
They, and 72 of their closest friends and family, had a week to remember at !
As always, they took such great care of us all! I can’t wait to share more form this beautiful celebration!

People often ask me why I do what I do...and how I can handle all the ‘stress’. Well, it’s because of them...these people...they are not just clients...many of my couples become my family…forever. They become my tribe.
I am so incredibly honored to be included in these moments...these days...these memories. I feel more like I am the person I was created to be when I’m at a wedding than when I’m anywhere else. I am blessed by these people...more than they even know. ❤️

Cheers!!! Another Chico Tradition… at ! It was so ‘convenient’ that we had a gap between the ceremony and reception and it just happened to be enough time for the crew to head across the street for this very Chico experience!
The best part, the whole restaurant had watched Brie & Jett exit the church across the street (and heard the church bell ringing of course) and many cheered as they walk into the restaurant. It was very sweet…and very Chico!

When you live in San Francisco, but decide to get married in your hometown, it makes sense you hold your ceremony at one of the most iconic buildings in town…which happens to be your hometown church, .pres
On a personal note: This building holds such special memories for me too! I spent almost 8 years working here as the Hospitality Director before going into CES full time in 2015. It was pretty sweet to get to go back to ‘working’ with family on this one.

A few years ago I worked with to do an audit of my website. One of the areas where I really struggled was highlighting my work. I’ve had folks tell me, because I’m a designer and planner, I should showcase the details that I create, and the designs that I bring together.
Shira saw my work in the same light I see it… with the central focus being on the people. She said (something similar to), “you have to show the people… That’s the part that matters most to you. That’s your brand.”
So, while I try to weave in lots of beautiful details, (which I’m really proud of), I will always showcase the people.
It’s the joy and the love that I’m really here for…the rest is the icing on the cake. 😉

I realllllly loved the clean, fresh feel of Amanda & Jeremy’s wedding day. It was classic country club, with a modern touch.
Once we walked the space together, we decided to really embrace some of the statement details in the room. Namely, the jewel toned carpet and rich wood beams. Amanda’s vision for romantic and warm vibes came to life with stunning florals by and, well, candles everywhere!
The space felt personal, and like a reflection of Amanda and Jeremy’s style.

When I reached out to Alysa at and found out she was available for and Jeremy’s wedding day, I was ecstatic! I have LOVED working with Alysa over the last few years and she was my first choice for this wedding.
As we refined our design plan, Amanda was pretty in love with a specific bouquet. She loved the textures, colors, and the combo of them all together.
As always, Alysa nailed it! The bouquet yes, but the whole design plan came to life with her florals. I loved how she took the inspiration and made it her own.
I was grateful to bring her into this project and can’t wait to create more together!

Amanda reached out to me in November of 2021. She saw my posts of her college girlfriends wedding (the day before) and had just gotten engaged. They were looking to plan a wedding for September of 2022. We had a great first phone call (the deep connection kind - the kind planners dream of), and we decided we were going to walk this journey together.
She and Jeremy had narrowed down their venue choices to a few… And after touring over the next couple of weeks, they landed on . We started plugging away at the other vendors and building our team. I was able to meet them for a site visit in February of 2022, and when I drove in and saw this arch, I fell in love. It was such a perfect location for the elegant and modern wedding that Amanda wanted. I was even more excited to get to design in this space.
Just as the save the dates arrived, I got a call from Amanda. The best of blessings was going to shift our plans. Amanda found out she was pregnant and after taking some time to consider the option of moving forward with the wedding as planned or postponing… She and Jeremy decided to postpone. We were able to just shift what we had worked on to one year later. And oh my gosh… It was worth the wait. Yes, the wedding, but sweet baby Cameron, and the love this family shares…makes my heart full. He was meant to be there on this day.
There’s so much about this wedding that I loved, but the biggest thing was walking along side not just one, but two, milestones with Amanda (Jeremy too 😉) and building a connection that will last beyond this gorgeous day.

Well, hello there! I’m Jodi, business owner, wedding planner, friend, daughter, sister, and my favorite - mom.
I love connection, service, and community.
When I’m not chatting it up with caterers, picking vases with florists, and making playlists with DJ’s, I am usually hanging with my 2 kiddos, planning events to support the wellness of first responders or planning another adventure with my favorite guy (I know, I haven’t dropped this on ya’ll yet ❤️)!
I’ve been spending a lot of time on the road the last few months, and even more coming up as our we finish our year in Cabo celebrating with L&A and 75 of their friends and family.
We kick off next year with trips and events in Chico, Nashville, and Napa…and that’s just in the first 3 months!
I was caught in a moment last night thinking about the work our team has done, and is doing, to prepare for next year, and I am just so freakin excited! We are producing some incredible events, with teams of super talented vendors for some really fantastic couples and I can’t wait to share it all!

We consulted with a few fabulous photographers, and they agreed.
Between the natural light coming in from the side and behind, as well as the fact that the living area (aka mess from getting ready) would be out of the frame, the decision was an easy one.

Maybe it’s just me, but there seems to be this unspoken expectation that success in the wedding industry means ‘luxury’. I’ve been in this industry for 18 years and have made some amazing connections with vendors that service all markets. Personally, I have felt so much pressure (mostly internal) to reach for success in the luxury market. The travel, the budgets, the people…it all seems so cool! And it probably is! As I’ve spent the last few weeks out of the office for fun and remote work, I’ve really taken some time to think through this idea…and look internally to find my definition of success. Just like in real estate, there are agents who work with luxury homes, those that work in the middle range, and those that sell/represent budget properties. Agents can experience the same success in all 3 markets even though they look really different. I’ve never really thought anything different of that profession. What I’ve come to recognize is that success isn’t about the biggest budgets or the most feature-able clients. It’s really about joy and satisfaction. For some vendors that is working with exclusive clients with larger budgets. For others, it’s about helping people stretch their dollar and get crafty. For me, it’s about partnering with couples who want to create an experience that is a reflection of who they are in the world. It’s about love, connection, beauty, celebration, and joy. You see, I’m like the realtor that’s working with the family looking for their forever home. The one that gives you allllthefeels and that you see your future in. For me, that’s success. There are MANY reasons to hire a professional wedding planner! Here are 3 that many don’t think about but are invaluable to the process - 1. Professional planners have a vast network of vendors in all styles and price points. Trust their recommendations. Not only does their expertise save you time, in the end, it will get you a better value for your dollar. 2. Just like buying a house, you can probably figure it out on your own by watching videos, reading articles, etc. but why spend the time doing that when you can hire a professional to guide you through the likely once in a life time experience? You’ll enjoy the process so much more! 3. Navigating family dynamics can be rough. With so many people (parents, siblings, bridal party) emotionally invested in the day, it can be challenging. Hiring a planner creates a neutral partner whose only investment is in giving you (and your loved ones) the best day of your life! So often couples focus on the financial cost of vendors they are considering. I would invite you to focus on the total value. Not just the cost of their product or service, but the value they can add through their presence. After almost 2 decades in this industry, we have worked with all kinds of personalities in all kinds of environments. You can literally feel the magic when your vendor team is connected and in sync, not just with each other, but with you! The energy is palpable. 😍 As professionals, your vendors (should) always deliver, but, if you take things a step further and consider how you will feel interacting with these people on one of the most important days of your life, that is a value that can’t be monetized. You spend so much time thinking about the guests that you want there (or don’t want there)… I would consider it equally important to pick vendors who you will be excited to see. Vendors that make you feel heard, supported, and safe. It’s not to say that your wedding won’t be fantastic if you focus more on generic criteria. Top 3 tips for planning a wedding or event ⬇️⬇️⬇️ 1. Decide on your guest list and budget. Don’t just talk about it, put pen to paper. Often, the numbers shift once you start really putting the work in. 2. Identify your top 2-3 priorities. Planning large scale events require many choices and if you start the process with your top must haves, then it helps you make decisions along the way. 3. Consider your team. Just like any industry, professionals make the process easier and often a more positive experience. From planners, to caterers, and even DJ’s/Bands, your money, and time, go further when you trust the people with expertise. While hiring a planner used to be considered a luxury, I look at it like a realtor’s role in the house buying process. These are milestone events. Sure, you can read articles, watch videos, and probably purchase a house on your own, but would you really want to risk your time and financial investment? Professional planners know the ins and outs of what events take, what vendors provide, and are experts in relationships and time management. Often, people say to me, “I could never do what you do!” Whether it be because of the level of organization or detail, the emotions of the people invested in the day, the budgets, etc., to some, our job seems ‘overwhelming’. The reality is it’s REALLY FREAKING FUN! And for me, this feels like a calling. I get to use my skills and talents to help make one of a lifetime events happen. How freakin cool is that. It is such an honor! Yes, it is exhausting, often emotional, and we’re always dehydrated and likely hungry. Most of the time we haven’t gone to the bathroom in 8-10 hours. Yes, there are hard moments, and there are people that take a bit more energy than others…but it has never made me question if this is where I should be.
