Heftyboy BBQ has been a thought for many years, but in 2018 the dream came true. Cheri and I started this business because of our love to cook. For us, it’s all about seeing our family and friends with full bellies and smiles on their faces. Cheri was fortunate enough to be a housewife for many years and during this time spent hours and hours in the kitchen perfecting her skills and recipes. She has a gift and knows what it takes to create that special taste. For me, I have spent years on the grill and smoker in my backyard just enjoying what I do. Now the time for us to put our minds together has finally come and we are taking that leap of faith. We are chasing the dream, not the money. If we can continue to provide quality BBQ by pouring our heart and soul into each event, then we know there is a bigger plan for us out there. At the end of the day, nothing makes us happier than a satisfied customer and we will do whatever we can to make sure this happens. Our rub and BBQ sauce came together after many nights of sitting around the kitchen table tasting and trying different combinations until we both looked at each other and knew we had created the taste we were looking for. We laugh because our recipes are written on cardboard and random pieces of paper we grabbed in the process. All of our meats are cooked low and slow on a smoker that was built for us in Missouri. We chose this particular smoker because it allows us to accomplish what we have set out to achieve and that’s producing large amounts of consistent smoked meats for all of you to enjoy.
