HEY MOMS and DADS: HERE'S ANOTHER FREE,
FUN ACTIVITY FOR THE FAMILY!

Treat your children to a FREE, FUN and EDUCATIONAL outing at the grocery store!

First, wait until you and the kids are rested and not in a hurry.

Next, choose a large grocery store with a large produce department. For those in Greater Cincinnati, Jungle Jim's has a huge produce department with fruits and vegetables from all over the world.

Do a little research beforehand. Google unusual looking fruits and vegetables; choose 5 to 10; print or save photos on your phone and make it a scavenger hunt to find them.

Learning opportunities include: colors for the preschoolers, simple geography lesson for the elementary school kids; nutrition for all; and math when you pay for each fruit or veggie at the check out.

Yes, we know it's 17 degrees outside, snow is on the ground, the kids had a snow day this week.

Don't miss Halle-Bration, the city’s largest free holiday festival and market -- coming THIS Friday and Saturday, December 7-8. It features a jazz social hour on Friday; and on Sat., unique shopping; fun for kids including free toys for the first 200, kids’ craft workshops and face painting; and continuous live entertainment.

Fun Activities for Kids on Saturday, 10 AM-4 PM
Children will be treated to: Free toys for the first 200 kids; a visit from Santa Claus; Arts and Crafts Workshop for Children taught by celebrated Artist & Poet Annie Ruth; Face Painting; Workshops on “The Meaning of Kwanzaa” and “The Meaning of Christmas” and much more.

The hours are: Friday, Dec. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 8, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at New Vision UMC, 4400 Reading Rd., 45229, Bond Hill. The event is FREE and open to the public. No pre-registration is required. More than 1,500 people are expected to attend.
