We are saddened by the sudden passing of Bruce Beiderbeck. Best known for his smile and laugh, Bruce was a longtime friend of Hilvers Catering. Bruce worked at Hilvers during high school, and for years after, he sold limburger cheese sandwiches at our booth at the Oktoberfest, and worked in the kitchen during the holidays and other busy times. Bruce was caring, generous, had a truly fun spirit! He will be deeply missed by many. We send our love and condolences to Pam, LuAnn, and the entire Beiderbeck and Mayer families.

We are saddened by the passing of Joan Schulte last week. As a friend and member of the kitchen staff at Hilvers Catering for over 30 years, this loss is tremendous. After retiring from a long career at Kahn’s in 1986, Joan and her late husband Bud began working in the kitchen at Hilvers a few years later. Arriving to work every day at 6am, Joan was a model of an incredible work ethic and tireless strength for people of all ages. Joan also knew how to have fun – some of her happiest places were the bingo hall and the slot machine. Everyone loved Joan – she was adored by all and had a generous heart and spirit, sharp wit, and took no sh%t! Joan loved her family and we are grateful to her many family members who have worked at Hilvers over the years - her daughter Debby, grandchildren James Hoeh, Danelle Jenna and Jason, late sister Oka, niece Cathy, and others. Our deepest condolences to Joan’s children Debby and Chris, her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and all of her family and friends. We are grateful for Joan and will miss her dearly.
