I received my education through Lovegevity Inc. I have been coordinating events pro bono and as an assistant for five years. I have been professionally coordinating as a lead for the past year. Looking for a unique touch for your wedding? How about Kidnapping the bride to honor German family traditions? Learn how we incorporate cultural elements into our celebrations.

It used to be a widespread German tradition to literally 'steal' the bride before the wedding. The groom’s best man was honoured with the task of taking the bride on a pub crawl while leaving hints for the groom to find them. The bride and her 'kidnapper' could drink until the groom showed up to 'free' his bride by paying for the bill.

3 mistakes you're making as a Bride to be

- Not going on dates with your soon to be and not talking about wedding stuff

- Not pampering yourself! You may be saving money for the wedding, but it's stressful, take the time you need to release some of that stress.

- Buying things for the wedding and saying you'll reuse it in the house...LOL Trust me, unless its a small timeless piece you wont be using it in your house. It will sit in a closet or storage forever (especially if there are more than 5..or 20 of the same thing!)

You’re just engaged and enjoying the season, when BOOM! everyone's a wedding expert. From Aunt Sally’s thoughts on the floral arrangement to your colleague’s opinions on wedding bands, it can get overwhelming.

Here’s how to navigate the sea of suggestions with grace:

- Acknowledge & Appreciate: Often, advice comes from a good place. A simple 'Thanks, I'll consider that!' can acknowledge their effort without committing to the idea.

- Set Boundaries: It's okay to say, 'We have a vision in mind, but I appreciate your input!' to gently set boundaries.

- Divert & Delegate: If they’re eager to help, assign a small task. It makes them feel involved without steering your plans off course.

- United Front: Make decisions with your partner and present a united front. It’s harder to argue with two!

- Info Diet: Share less about your planning to avoid a flood of opinions. Sometimes, less is more.

It's your day, your way. While advice can be golden, remember the ultimate choice lies with you and your partner.

I think your lucky girl syndrome brought you to the right planner! Did you know that if you don't hire a planner, you're spending at least 300+ hours on wedding planning (on a typical 1 1/2 year long engagement)... probably closer 400 or 450 hours if you have a hard time picking and choosing!!
