Our story is one that God placed his hands on and took control. My husband and I were born and raised in Ocala, FL. We met in High School and found true love. Greg and I were married May 21, 1988. We have 3 children Sara, Zack & Savannah and 2 grandchildren Lane & Luke. Greg ran his own construction business until the housing crash in 2009 hit and then went to work for CSX Railroad. I have been employed with Dr. Croley @ Central Florida Eye Institute for the last 31 years. Greg and I attend Triple Cross Church. In 2014 our daughter Sara got married and we had a beautiful wedding in our front yard. I told my husband that I wished we could do a wedding venue at our home unfortunately we only owned 9 acres and really no room for a venue. About a year later our very good friend “Mr. Al Kunz” told us we needed to look at some property he had listed. My husband drove through grown up fields saying how pretty the land was, I did not see the beauty as he did. But he told me you could have your wedding barn. The edge of the pond was completely wooded and you had to walk out onto a very depilated dock to see the pond. But when you looked across this pond it was just an amazing view. We left knowing that it was out of our price range and no way we could ever purchase 90 acres. Well Mr. Al really thought we needed to make and offer and we told him we did not want to insult the seller, but he insisted it had been on the market for 2 years with no offers. So we prayed about it and made a offer to purchase the land with a down payment and for seller to hold the balance of the mortgage until we could sell our home. After a little negotiating and praying God blessed us with a way to buy it. We promptly put our house on the market so that we could afford this piece of land/ We had a beautiful manicured home with 9 acres a pool and 2 barns. Everyone thought we were crazy but Greg and I knew God was leading this venture every step of the way. Every time we thought there was a hurdle that we couldn't handle God provided away for it to happen. The house sold very quick and Mr. Charles and Ms. Cyndi that was purchasing it was not going to move in for 6 months and graciously traded out furniture and home upkeep for rent once they purchased the house. God is amazing. So after fixing the little cabin up on the property we then moved out of our old house while Charles and Cyndi moved in. We then started fencing and building barns for the horses and the tractors. Then it was time to start on my venture for the property a wedding barn. I had a friend at work and her daughter was getting married and wanted a barn venue, so I told my husband we need to let her be our first wedding so that we would have a goal date. It was time and my husband started working every weekend he was home with the help of friends and family to get this barn raised and ready for a wedding. Now 1 year later and a lot of help later, Tyler, Tom, David, Kevin, Zack, Tim, Robert & Mr. David we are ready and open for business. Our wish is to see happy couples wed , families gather for rejoicing and for God to receive the glory of this little piece of heaven we get to enjoy everyday.
How did we decide on a name for the venue. Some research shows Andalusia was a small town east of Citra on 318 dating back in the 1900’s we wanted this property to reflect some of the history in the Citra area. Andalusia Acres
