This beautiful four-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog is Jewels. I had the privilege of photographing Jewels and her mama last week for her EOL session, and though our time together was brief, her gentle spirit and pure love shone through. She was a truly special dog, deeply loved by her family, and her loss leaves a palpable void.

I know how much Jewels meant to her family, and my thoughts are with them during this difficult time. It's never easy to say goodbye to a beloved pet, especially one so young. While her time on this earth was far too short, the joy and love she brought into their lives, and others, will be cherished forever. I hope that in time, the happy memories of Jewels will bring comfort and smiles through the tears.

Rest in peace, sweet Jewels. You will be missed, pretty girl. ❤️‍🩹

𝗔𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻 | "𝑅𝑒𝓂𝑒𝓂𝒷𝑒𝓇 𝑀𝑒 𝒜𝓁𝓌𝒶𝓎𝓈"

Aspen was more than just a dog; she was a cherished member of her family, a loyal friend, and a gentle giant with a heart to match her size.
This morning, Aspen's mom shared the heartbreaking news that they had to lay Aspen to rest yesterday after her brave battle with stage 5 leukemia. Despite the love and care that surrounded her, this cruel disease took its toll, and they had to say goodbye far too soon. 💔 Beautiful Aspen was not even three years old yet.
During her EOL session, I worked on capturing her spirit and the bond she shared with her family. These photographs testify to the beautiful moments we can cherish forever, even when our beloved pets leave us.
To Aspen's family, thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey and for trusting me to honor Aspen’s memory through my lens. Your love for her was palpable, and it’s a reminder of the deep connections we form with our animals.
Rest peacefully, sweet Aspen. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten. 💖

I do a lot of end-of-life pet sessions.
During these, I try and stay in 'work mode' as to not get too emotional. Pet owners don't need that. They're trying to keep it together themselves. I focus on taking the best images I can so that they can look back and remember their beloved furry friend.

But sometimes....
Sometimes, while I'm editing, these pictures bring tears to my eyes. I just can't help it. 😞

While working on this gallery of this big handsome boy named Buck, I couldn't help but cry (not once might I add) - The bond between him and Paige is just too beautiful. Life isn't fair. I think we're reminded of that every day. Hold your pets extra close tonight. We only have them for so long. RIP beautiful Buck. 🖤

End-of-life sessions are a delicate dance. It's about honoring a life lived, capturing the essence of a beloved companion in their final moments. There's a profound sadness, a bittersweet ache that hangs in the air. The bond.

Yet, within that sadness, there is beauty. A quiet strength in the love that remains. A chance to say goodbye with dignity, to preserve those precious memories forever. To capture the soft fur, the gentle gaze, the lingering warmth of a love that will never truly fade.

It's a humbling experience, a reminder of the fleeting nature of life and the profound impact our animal companions have on our souls.

Every time I go to a Remember Me Always EOL session, my heart aches with bittersweet feelings. Capturing these end-of-life moments of people's beloved pets is both heartbreaking and beautiful.

These sessions are a reminder that our time together may be short, but the love that is shared will last a lifetime. Cherish every moment with your furry friends, even the ones that bring tears to your eyes. 💔🐾

To us animal lovers, our pets are like our family. Our children even.
They provide us with everlasting love, trust and affection, even on the hardest of days.

It can be incredibly difficult to let our beloved fur babies go. Whether it be due to old age or illness, we often don't think to capture the last memories we have with our beautiful pets. That is when I come in, I will capture those precious final moments between you and your animal that you will be able to cherish for the rest of your life.
