The engagement phase of Clarkston's City Agriculture Plan is underway, and we want to hear from YOU! Our Community Conversations are a chance for residents to share insights on food access, urban agriculture, and the future of our local food system. Your input will directly shape policies and programs for the next 3-5 years.

Hosted by Food Well Alliance Atlanta Regional Commission and local food leaders, these discussions will help identify key issues and opportunities related to food access, urban agriculture, and sustainability in Clarkston.

Upcoming Sessions:

Today, March 19 | 6 PM – Clarkston Woman’s Club
Wednesday, March 26 | 11 AM – Refuge Coffee Co.
Saturday, April 12 | 10 AM – Clarkston Woman’s Club
The first 50 participants will receive $25 for their time.

Clarkston Community Center Celebrates International Women’s Day – A Hub for Talent & Creativity!

For the first time, Clarkston Community Center became a vibrant hub where artists, musicians, and creatives united for an extraordinary celebration of International Women’s Day.

🎨 A massive group exhibition transformed the East Wall into a breathtaking showcase of artistic brilliance.
🎶 The fusion of Asian classical music with modern melodies, paired with live calligraphy, created a truly soul-stirring experience.
🖌️ The student art competition and interactive experiences bridged cultures and generations, bringing the community together.
☕ Beneath twinkling lights, the rich aroma of Ethiopian coffee filled the air, fostering moments of warmth and connection.

Loneliness and social isolation are serious health threats. U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek H. Murthy has called it an epidemic with effects as harmful as smoking 15 ci******es a day. 💔

The Clarkston Community Center is proud to partner with the GSU Prevention Resource Center to address this growing concern in our community. Together, we’re working with the Refugee Women’s Network to combat the effects of isolation and connect people in meaningful ways. 🤝

Thank You for Making the Know Your Rights Forum a Success! 🎉

On January 25th, 2025, the Know Your Rights Forum was held at the Clarkston Community Center, an empowering event organized by the Global Youth Ambassadors of the Clarkston Community Center. The forum was dedicated to educating students and families about their educational rights and available resources. We couldn’t have made this event a success without their hard work and dedication!

A big thank you to all our guests and volunteers whose support was invaluable throughout the day.

We’re also grateful to Clarkston Mayor Beverly H. Burks for her inspiring words and leadership.

It was an incredible opportunity to learn, connect, and grow together. We look forward to more events like this and appreciate everyone who helped make it happen! 🙏

We’re teaming up with the Prevention Research Center (PRC) and Refugee Women’s Network to take on a major issue: loneliness and social isolation. Did you know feeling isolated can affect your health just like smoking 15 ci******es a day? That’s why we’re bringing people together through activities like gardening, tai chi, art, and mindfulness to create real connections.

We’re especially proud to partner with Refugee Women’s Network to make sure everyone in our diverse Clarkston community feels supported and included. Together, we’re building a stronger, healthier community where no one feels alone.

We’re excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to see the impact this will have! 💙
