I love Nuernberg

German Food to me is just the best. I was born and grew up in Nuernberg Germany. A beautiful city with lots of history and great food. As a child we would go to the market every Saturday where the local farmers sold their vegetables, fruits, flowers, eggs and poultry. My Dad loved to cook. We did not have a lot of money, but he always said that we will always eat good. And so we did.

Every Sunday we had Roast and Gnidla (that’s the Franconian word for potato balls). Every Christmas we had Goose. My Dad would always cook and try out new things. He loved food and he loved to cook for us and everyone else. We sat down as a Family and truly enjoyed eating. We would go into the woods and find mushrooms and go home and make a meal with them. We would pick berries and make a pie.

That love for food and cooking is something that I also have. I love to cook for my Family and others. Good food brings people together. To sit down and enjoy a good meal is something that we all can do, no matter where we from or what language we speak.

That’s when I decided to bring some of our great German food to the people here.
