The Clayton Center will be closed on Monday, January 20, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
This day commemorates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader who dedicated his life to justice, equality, and the pursuit of civil rights for all. His vision and tireless efforts continue to inspire us to work toward unity and compassion in our communities.💙

Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, January 21.

In preparation for the incoming winter storm, Town facilities will close early today at 3 p.m. All facilities will remain closed through the weekend. This includes all activities at Town Hall/The Clayton Center, Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library, and Clayton Parks and Recreation/The Community Center.

When surface temperatures are below freezing, drizzle will form a thin layer of ice on the roads. This difficult-to-see ice can cause dangerous travel conditions. If you have to be on the roads during these conditions, slow down, don’t use cruise control, and keep your distance from other vehicles. Our Public Works Department has been hard at work brining roads, parking lots, and Town facilities to prepare for the mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain in the forecast. We’ll continue monitoring conditions and treating areas as needed.

If needed, report power outages using the Clayton Outage and Messaging System (COMS):

•Report online at ClaytonNC.org/COMS.
•Call 919-553-1530 and follow the prompts.

The winter weather is moving in and we are having to cancel the Heads Up Penny concert scheduled for tomorrow, January 10, 2025. ❄️

We are working on rescheduling the event and will provide updates as soon as we have more information. Current ticketholders will receive an email directly regarding the event.
