A wedding planner is a luxury. A wedding coordinator is a necessity.

why?

A wedding coordinator is there on your wedding day to ensure that everything runs smoothly. What do I do, exactly? In a short form, “everything.”

-rehearsals. Coordinating the wedding party, running throng the order of events, and keeping everyone informed.
-day-of timeline. Keeping things on schedule, including vendors and guests.
-handling mistakes. S**t happens. Correcting issues quickly and discreetly so guests don’t notice.
-venue logistics. Ensuring the venue is safe and comfortable for guests.
-emergency kit. Bringing an emergency kit with everything you might need.
-being your advocate.

why a second shooter is important:

-different perspectives. Unfortunately, your photographer can’t be in two places at once.
-more coverage. The second shooter can simultaneously take the grooms photos while the main photographer is with the bride.
-timing. The second shooter could cover cocktail hour while the main photographer does sunset couple photos.
-more photos. (this one is dependent on your package), but you’ll have double coverage, so therefore more photos for the photographers to choose from to edit.

I wear a lot of hats.

Getting to be apart of one of the greatest days of your life is truly the coolest thing ever. Developing a relationship with all of my couples before the big day is so important to me because that is how trust is built.

I don’t take lightly that you’ve selected LS Planning & Co. to plan and execute your big day. Planning, building relationships and making people genuinely happy are my biggest passions in life.

overstimulation is a real thing.

there’s a couple ways to handle this:

1) set boundaries and inform your coordinator. I’ll politely ask your guests to meet you on the dance floor after you guys get finished eating.

2) have a private meal. I can schedule in 20 minutes for you guys to have a private dinner, away from the crowd.

Budgeting time to do your bustle into your timeline is so important!

Things to consider:
•Do you want the train down for your first dance?
•Do uou want your train down for your father/daughter dance?
•Do you want your train down for your sunset photos (summer brides: the sun sets LATE)

Tips:
•Have your mom or MOH come with you to your final fitting.
•Take a video of how to do your bustle.
•Understand that bustles sometimes break. (I’ve got you if this happens!)

-time with your partner is limited on your wedding day.
-it allows a moment of privacy to privately exchange your vows.
-the pictures are always incredible.

behold…one of the most controversial wedding topics: the guest list.

My biggest tip: if it’s a surprise that “little ole Johnny” has a fiancé, they don’t need to be there. If they don’t know when your birthday is, they don’t need to be there. If they aren’t someone who has enhanced your life in some way or supported you, they don’t need to be there.

Ask yourself: would you miss this person if they were not at your wedding? If the answer is no, they don’t need to be there.

wedding prices. let’s talk about it 📩

your venue should be one of the first things you book for your wedding. It usually takes up 20-30% of your total budget.

Often times couples walk away from a wedding venue (that they might have loved) with a knot in their stomach when they realize just how expensive the weddding they want will actually be.

Tip: hire a wedding planner. They will set realistic expectations for you. Is your Pinterest board always achievable with your budget? Absolutely not. Will we still find beautiful alternatives? Of course.

what they don’t tell you…

your dress is made to be worn.

people will step on it, it will get stained, and your bustle may break. Those things unfortunately, you can’t control. One thing we can control is how you react.

the reason why my dress seems as though it’s been through WWIII is because all of those things happened to me AND it poured on my wedding day (which is good luck, right?☔️😅)
