You will have 45 minutes with a personal stylist and your own dressing room to find your dream dress. Hi I am Marina the owner of Harper + Ivory 🌸

So much has happened since opening in July of 2021 that I thought I would share a little bit about me!

I was born in San Francisco but moved down to San Diego when I was 12. At 18 I decided to venture across country and attend The College of Wooster where I ended up meeting my husband . After graduating, I went back to San Diego for a year, where I helped write floral and event design proposals for and was their in-house wedding planner. After a year, I decided to move to Akron to be closer to Evan as he pursued professional basketball.

I was 23 and not really sure what was next for me but there was a job opening at my college and I decided to apply. For the next 5 years I worked there and went from an intern to the assistant director of entrepreneurship. I was passionate about bringing local businesses to campus as well as hosting events focused around women entrepreneurs. While working full-time there I was also a part-time bridal stylist on the weekends because I still loved being a part of the wedding industry.

After getting married in 2020 and having a lot of time to reflect on life and what was important, I knew it was time to dream a little bigger. In 2021, Harper + Ivory was born out of the desire to create a more intimate space for brides to feel like themselves and have access to a thoughtful and curated collection of bridal designers. I quit the 3 jobs I was working at the time and opened H+I’s calendar from 9am-8pm every single day, helping bride’s find their dream dress 👰🏽.

In the last 2 years I received my 2 biggest blessings of all - becoming Mila + Everett’s mama. At 31 I am rediscovering who I am as a mom, wife, friend, business owner, and all the other roles I have. I do know that I am learning to live more intentionally and not rush time.

I am so grateful for everyone who has supported this dream the last 3 years and the amazing team at H+I that continuously pour their hearts into our brides.

A story that will give you chills.

Our bride Lauren booked a VIP bridal appointment with us where she was placed in our private upstairs dressing room. Lauren had no clue which room she would be in but after everyone got settled in, her mother, Maryann, shared that this was the exact room where she had her rehearsal dinner at on Aug 2, 1992.

And 31 years later, she got to witness her daughter find her wedding dress in the exact same room. Maryann graciously sent me photos from her dinner where you can see everyone eating in front of the same fireplace. I am so thankful I was working that day to meet Lauren and Maryann and witness such a special moment 🤍
