One of the larger bathrooms is almost there. We passed the plumbing inspection today 🎉
Here’s a video of one of the two bells located in the west bell tower. The bell was built in 1900 by The E. W. Vanduzen Co. in Cincinnati.
The bell says:
MEFTODIJ
SV. O. NIKOLAJA C.
1900
The E. W. Vanduzen Co. was established in 1837 and created chimes, peals, and bells for churches, schools, fire alarms, tower clocks, factories, cathedrals, court-houses, and steamboats. They also created Westminster clock chimes.
🔔 The bell in the east tower will remain operable for couples who want to ring in their marriage.
A catwalk has been created above the ceiling so our crew can install network cables, a sprinkler system, and support for the chandelier.
When my husband and I first started this project in 2020, we spent a lot of time deciding whether or not to bring down the ceiling and expose these wooden beams. It would have been gorgeous, of course, but we ultimately decided that it was more important to preserve the original barrel-vaulted ceiling.
