I spent Labor Day Weekend celebrating Lauren & Nick at Kingwood Center Gardens 🫶🏼 The weather was on our side (after much anticipation!) and I cannot thank the entire vendor team enough for their hard work bringing this outdoor celebration together. Lauren and Nick, it has been such an honor working with you over the past year and a half and I wish you all the best. Cheers to The Belofskys!

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: one of my favorite moments each wedding day is the recessional. Seeing family and friends’ reactions to the happy couple in the moments right after “I Do!” is just the BEST 🫶🏼

Brides and grooms, don’t forget to pause for a second kiss or a dip on your way out. It makes for the best photo. A ceremony setting as beautiful as this one helps too, of course!

When you think about your first dance, do you feel excited or a little bit anxious? Many couples tell me they’re most nervous for this event during their wedding reception. Your first dance doesn’t have to be intimidating, and it should always be a reflection of you and your partner’s personalities and relationship 🤍 Below are a few tips to follow:

1. Consider choreographing your dance, or at least portions of it. This can be a fun bonding activity AND it makes for great photos like the ones above. If you’re not interested in taking in-person lessons, YouTube is a great resource to use at home.

2. On that note, practice makes perfect! Walking through your first dance before the big day will help ease any jitters. Even if you just practice one dip for a fun photo, I promise it will be worth it.

3. If you’re not keen on being in the spotlight, talk with your band or DJ and determine a point in your song that you’d like the music to fade out or stop. There’s no rule that says you have to dance for the entire song!

“That’s not my job” is a phrase you’ll never hear from me. On wedding days you can find me steaming dresses and veils, drying off bouquets, handing out mints before the ceremony, grabbing extra bottles of water for vendors, and more. And I love every minute of it!

Staying organized with checklists and a master timeline allows me to stay on top of the big things, while also jumping in to help with these smaller tasks in between.

The First Look ✨

Have you been considering including this intimate moment in your timeline? Let’s talk about why this is a wonderful way to personalize your wedding day.

✨ A first look provides you with the opportunity to read private vows before your ceremony, or just soak in a few minutes with your partner alone.
✨ You’ll be able to spend a few more hours with your partner on your wedding day.
✨ A first look allows you to wrap up all of your formal photos, including family portraits, before your ceremony.
✨ You can then join in on the fun of cocktail hour with your wedding party and guests.

Ultimately, it’s up to you and your partner whether or not you decide to do a first look before your ceremony. I love creating unique timelines for each couple I work with to meet their needs 🤍

It’s officially October, which means this week is full of 2024 wedding planning! Locking in vendors, signing contracts, creating design boards, mailing save-the-dates, designing websites, and scheduling calls with my 2024 clients will be keeping me busy this fall and winter. And I’ll be loving every minute 🤍
