It’s Time for Backyard Barbecue!
Rib Cook-Off | Friday, May 2, 2025

Join us for a day filled with fun, BBQ, and community fellowship! This exciting cook-off is sanctioned by the Rib Cookoff Association and will feature judges from the local community—no professional training here, just a chance for the best backyard cooks to shine and take home the win.

Competition Details:
• Category: PORK SPARE RIBS ONLY (St. Louis Style or Full; NO Baby Backs)
• Setup Opens: 7:00 AM
• Cook Team Meeting: 2:30 PM
• Rib Turn-In: 7:00 PM
• Awards Ceremony: 8:30 PM

It's that time!! We are in the planning stages of the 3rd Annual Blount County Sheriff's Office Rodeo!! We are seeking vendors and sponsors for April 11th and 12th to be a part of the Rodeo! We will be having 3 shows this year, along with an Exceptional Needs Rodeo! If you are interested in becoming a vendor at this year's rodeo or wish to receive the sponsorship packet to see where you can help in sponsorship, reach out to Jason Paul at [email protected] to receive information. With your continued support and assistance, we can make this the premier event in Blount County. More details on tickets and events will be released closer to April.

Hi friends, as of now the Christmas parade is still scheduled for Tuesday at 7PM as it is a “rain or shine” event. Hopefully, the rain will slack off by the time the parade kicks off! The route is the same starting at the IGA/Zaxby’s intersection going down Highway 75 past Ace Hardware and turning on 1st Avenue (downtown Oneonta district).

Her class really captured the theme “Gazing Into the FUTURE of Blount County,” for the Class Project Contest part of the Blount County Fair 2024.
