We’re so excited to share one of our newest resident artists, Into the Pines Jewelry! Make sure to stop by RAMP Level for the Grand Opening tonight during the THIRD FRIDAY Art Walk from 5-9pm!

Into the Pines Jewelry offers permanent jewelry, stacking rings, a charm bar where people can customize their own necklaces and bracelets, and lots of my other handmade jewelry. Carlie Merkle, the artist and owner of Into the Pines Jewelry plans to also offer jewelry making workshops and special events monthly.

Carlie states, “I’ll be taking appointments for permanent jewelry, so people can message me to book an appointment. If they’d like to book an event with me where they can come use my studio space for a night of permanent jewelry or to peruse the charm bar with a group, that’s something I’d love to do as well!”

We’re excited to be welcoming our newest gallery to the building, V&A Gallery, which is a collaboration between renowned Cleveland artist Hector Vega and watercolorist Brian Asquith.

The gallery also hosts photographic art by Bridget Daryl Ginley, and glassworks by Mike Zelenka. V&A Gallery is located by the entrance to the 78th Street parking lot, so look for the purple door.

V&A Gallery is open during Third Friday Art Walks or by appointment, so make sure to stop by!

Many Third Friday regulars have probably seen Mark Kreiger working on his latest paintings and the upcoming February Third Friday is no exception!

Mark states, “I usually save a simple procedure for open studio night so that I can relax and chat with people. Interaction with interesting folks out for an art crawl often helps develop my idea.”

As an artist who has passed the point of middle age, I am keenly aware of the inspiration that comes from an introspective examination as I mine poignant and personal imagery. I am triggering intuition while exploring the complex intersections of individual and collective memory. At the heart of my work is a visceral premonition where colors are instinctual and gestures are prompt, uninhibited, and vigorous. My new paintings are the result of reconnecting with guttural intuitiveness and dissociating with structured belief systems. What I am most interested in sharing with the viewer is a sensation more so than a statement.

Join tomorrow evening, Friday, January 17th from 5:00-9:00pm, to celebrate the opening of her solo exhibition, “Water Story” during the January Third Friday Art Walk!

Water is Tracy’s muse.

Water has been a presence throughout Tracy’s life- in sport, in leisure, in health. Moving water creates “ions” which are released into the air, our bodies absorb them and these ions improve our health and mindset – that’s why we love sitting on the beach or watching a waterfall. There is science behind it!

Water Story is a collection of pieces that brings us into the flow of moving water – something we can’t control. Amidst our busy lives and schedules, where we are constantly managing things, these pieces allow us to step into a moment where we are “with” the water, absorbing its movement and letting it control the space.

Tracy McCarty’s solo exhibition, Water Story, opens in Suite 215 Gallery on Friday, January 17 at 5pm during our January THIRD FRIDAY Art Walk!

Water Story is a collection of pieces that brings us into the flow of moving water – something we can’t control. Amidst our busy lives and schedules, where we are constantly managing things, these pieces allow us to step into a moment where we are “with” the water, absorbing its movement and letting it control the space.

Her technique of placing clear water on heavy paper, then adding watercolor pigment that “moves”with the water while she lifts and tilts the paper, lets the movement of the water and color define the space more than the brush.

We hope to see you at the Opening Reception!

Each of us hold our own business hours, but collectively we open for two nights each month: THIRD FRIDAYS, Ohio’s largest art walk, is a free event featuring finished work and gallery exhibits, every third Friday from 5 - 9 pm. WATCH IT WEDNESDAYS is a ticketed experience, offering exclusive access behind-the-scenes to select studios where you can witness the art-making right before your eyes. $20/person or $15/person for groups of 10 or more.
