The First Unitarian Universalist Society of Albany (Albany UU) is currently seeking a dynamic and creative part-time Music Director for 20 hours per week for 44 weeks annually. The position starts on April 11, 2022, or as soon as possible thereafter. With over 325 members, Albany UU is a vibrant, theologically diverse Welcoming Congregation committed to social justice, inclusivity, and a spirit of community. The candidate should enjoy working collaboratively in a supportive environment and be enthusiastic about employing a broad range of musical genres, including UU repertoire.

Earlier this week, we put together this version of "Guantanamera" (by Fernandez/Marti) for yesterday's church service where we featured international music. Such fun. Thanks to my percussion buddies, the two Chris' and Elena on piano and Sam for video-ing. Hope you enjoy!

I had the honor of playing in over one hundred varied gigs: end of life celebrations, anniversaries, parties and weddings, senior residences, libraries, schools, church services, and more. Beat the Winter Blues! Join us for a family friendly concert on JANUARY 11th at 7 pm to benefit the local US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. Featuring Alyssa Yeager playing and singing popular music from the fifites and sixties as well as originals. Monetary and toiletry/school supply donations will be gratefully accepted (suggested value $10-$15). Desserts and beverages also available. This is an Albany UU Choir sponsored event and will take place at the First Unitarian Universalist (Albany UU) , 405 Washington Ave, Albany NY. Hello Music Lovers,

The Electric City Chorus, Schenectady's own premier male singing group, is putting on a great barbershop show this fall. Featuring the chorus, chapter quartets, a mixed select chorus from the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk school, and two up-and-coming young quartets from the greater Northeast area, it will be chock-full of great tunes and great singing!

The show will be on Saturday, September 29, at 7:00 PM in the auditorium of Schenectady High School, on The Plaza in Schenectady. Seats are $10, children under 12 are free. Tickets are available from any member (including me!) or at [email protected].

A portion of the proceeds are used to support scholarships for Harmony Explosion camps that foster good singing skills and a love of a ca****la harmony in young people. We also support our community partner, Habitat for Humanity of Schenectady.
