Thank you all for your incredible support and enthusiasm this season! We wanted to let you know that chestnut harvesting at Wyoming Farm is officially finished for the year, and we’ll be CLOSED this weekend, October 26 & 27.

Your visits and love for the fall harvest have meant so much to us! We’re grateful to be a part of your autumn traditions and can’t wait to welcome you back next year.

HARVEST UPDATE!

Our trees are preparing for their winter rest, which means our chestnut harvesting season is almost over. The 7th Annual Balkan Chestnut Festival at Wyoming Farm in Clinton, MD on October 19th will be the LAST chance to harvest this year! To ensure everyone gets a chance to forage, we’re limiting sales to 1 lb per family.

All festival ticket holders will receive a free sample of roasted chestnuts, with more available for purchase at the event. ONLY TICKET HOLDERS will be allowed to harvest, and unfortunately, harvesting on October 20th, 26th, and 27th is canceled.

The trees have been soaking up the recent rain, and the chestnuts are ripening beautifully. With sunny skies and perfect 70-degree days in the forecast for this Saturday and Sunday, it’s shaping up to be an ideal weekend for harvesting.

For the first time ever, we are excited to announce that both our upper and lower orchards will be open to the public for chestnut harvesting! This marks a significant milestone for Wyoming Farm, and we can’t wait to welcome you. In October, we’ll be open every weekend from 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays for harvesting (pending the trees doing what we expect them to do):

October 5th & 6th: Opening Weekend
October 12th & 13th
October 19th: Harvesting available only to attendees of the Balkan Chestnut Festival
October 20th
October 26th & 27th: Closing Weekend

For those who prefer a quieter experience or want to harvest in bulk, weekday appointments are available for chestnut picking as well.

Chestnuts will be available at $10 per pound. While you’re here, don’t forget to explore our selection of chestnut-related supplies, local honey, and other handmade goods for sale on weekends.

We have so much to celebrate this year, especially after enduring the summer’s extreme heat and low rainfall. Our chestnut trees continue to amaze us with their resilience, and we’re excited for many weekends of pick-your-own adventures this fall. The highlight of our season, the Balkan Chestnut Festival, is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to share our joy with you!
