✨They’ll tell you your dreams are too far-fetched, that your vision is unrealistic, and that you’re reaching too far. They’ll look at your plans and shake their heads, saying, “Be practical.” But here’s the truth: every big dream starts with someone who’s willing to look delusional to others.
Walt Disney was told a mouse would never work as a mascot. Oprah Winfrey was told she didn’t have the personality for television. The Wright brothers? They were mocked for daring to believe humans could fly. Yet here we are, living in a world shaped by dreamers who refused to listen to naysayers.
Dreaming big isn’t delusional. It’s daring.
It’s the willingness to see a path where no one else does. It’s having the courage to face doubt, failure, and obstacles and still press forward. Dreaming big means believing in the “impossible” until it becomes inevitable.
I’m sure there were whispers about how we were crazy to transform a horse barn into a wedding venue. Who’d want to get married in Clio, Michigan, in a dirty old horse barn, of all places? But we saw potential. We saw a space where people could celebrate their love under the stars. And guess what? It worked.
Your dreams might seem unrealistic to others because they aren’t meant to see them the way you do. They weren’t given your vision. That’s your gift.
So go ahead and dream big. Let people call you delusional. Build anyway. Create anyway. Grow anyway. One day, they’ll look at your success and say, “Of course, it worked. It was so obvious.”
It was only delusional until it worked.
