Perfect October evening for an outdoor wedding at Weymouth Hill in Ironton, Ohio. This is just the cocktail hour food. Dinner consisted of Prime Rib, Kentucky Bourbon Chicken, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Corn Pudding, Garlic Veggies and Harvest Salad.

Another double wedding day. I took a crew to Rolling Acres Farm to an earlier, extremely HOT wedding. We finished up and moved over to Venue at The Edge to help Scott and his crew serve and clean up! Thank you to Elijah, Jennifer, and Abigail Clark (look at all those Clarks!), Claire, Trent & Travis!!!
Lots of prep and cooking- but it really is a great time!

We had two weddings today that totaled 300 guests. Here are the items we prepared:

Year 21 of catering and this is the #1 menu item that “hooks” a first time customer!
Strawberry Spinach Salad with our homemade red wine vinaigrette!
If you haven’t tried it- you need to!
It’ll be back on the bakery menu this week at Sugar & Spice Sweets To Go! That menu changes weekly and is posted every Tuesday mid-morning! Go give it a follow & you’ll find something new to try each week!

My first ”Farm to Table” catered event for Coalfield Development in Huntington WV.
It was definitely a challenge with some unique resources, but I utilized every ingredient they gave me and the only thing I provided was cheese, cinnamon, salt, pepper and vinegar.
They provided all from local farmers:
Chicken
Sweet Potatoes
Eggplant
Peppers- lots of varieties
Sausage
Eggs
Mixed greens
Apples
Honey
Apple Butter
Butter
Whole milk
Cornmeal
Onions
Lots and lots of fresh herbs
Tortilla Chips
Salsa

Shout out to my many helpers!!!
Abigail Stepp, Taylor Dial, Molly Starr, Hannah Workman, Mary Ann Bailey, Claire Webb, Noah Lambert, Evan Clark and even Scott the Clark peeled and chopped all the eggplant! No way on earth I could have done it alone…kind of like all the other days of my life.
