💼 Position: Piggy Joy Coordinator

What You’ll Do:
✨ Research and identify ideal clients
✨ Make cold calls and follow up with leads

💼 Position: Therapy Pet Handler
💰 Pay: $15/hr during training, up to $25/hr depending on responsibilities and events
⏱ Hours: Up to 20 hours per week

What You’ll Do:
✨ Handle and care for our therapy pigs
✨ Prepare for events (bath time, harnessing, and packing supplies)
✨ Safely drive to event locations
✨ Facilitate piggy snuggles, photo ops, and even a piggy kissing booth
✨ Ensure smooth event ex*****on and post-event cleanup

What We’re Looking For:
🐷 Love for animals (pig experience is a bonus!)
🐷 Patience and compassion for working with seniors, kids, and special needs individuals
🐷 A valid driver’s license and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs

It was on this couch that she recounted how the floodwaters abruptly changed direction in her front yard when the dam was released. Her entire street made the decision to head for higher ground, narrowly avoiding the fate of neighbors who were swept away in their cars. A neighbor with a kayak saved several lives, including pets. Someone managed to wake an elderly woman asleep in her recliner, with water already up to her knees.

She’s already torn out her garden beds—the soil now too toxic to grow anything. She’s contemplating leaving the area, as she has the means to go. Staying feels like an unnecessary strain on a support system that was already fragile before the flood and is now barely functioning.

“We might have just come for him,” a few joked when they saw Cedar. His soft snout tucked into an elbow brought instant comfort. Some clung to him, leaving their partners to gather supplies so they could keep snuggling. “This is therapeutic!” was a common refrain. Cameras clicked, capturing moments of joy as Cedar worked his magic.

Tomorrow, we’ll witness the devastation firsthand—a reality we’ve already glimpsed through raw conversations and research into how the storm has upended lives. We’ve personally connected with 50 to 70 individuals, preparing to deliver supplies tailored to their specific needs.

Cedar is eager to join, with plans for meet-and-greets, visits to distribution sites, sessions with special needs children, and even a kiss-a-pig fundraiser alongside an amazing community partner!

Our deepest gratitude goes to those who’ve contributed to this mission, making these gifts possible.

As we’ve delved deeper, we’ve identified additional needs:
-$200 Donation Needed: Two families with children suffering from severe food allergies are unable to find suitable supplies at distribution centers.
-Household Products: We’ve shifted focus from propane donations (covered by other organizations) to essential items like laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, and feminine products—our most requested needs. We’re still several hundred dollars short of meeting these demands.

For those living in tents in western North Carolina, next week’s weather is going to be unbearably cold. With blizzard conditions looming, we’re hearing a desperate need from our connections in the Hurricane Helene-affected towns east of Asheville: propane to stay warm.

We’ve raised $705 of our $3,500 goal, which was originally set to reach several giving goals but included keeping 5 families warm for 2 weeks. However, with the harsh conditions ahead, we’re adjusting to support 10 families for 1 week.

This effort is about more than just propane—it’s about sending love and care from our community to theirs during this devastating time.

Want to get in on the joy Tree Family Party Piggies spreads on the regular? We are taking a week off as a family to take our piglet down to the disaster ravaged areas of Western North Carolina to bring smiles and hope but we need your help! We are raising funds to pay for lodging, food, and gas along with funds for specific experiences we hope to provide:

1. We have elderly care facilities and children's homes requesting crafting supplies like coloring books, art projects, etc. so we're looking for 5 people to donate $25 to purchase these supplies.
2. There are many many families without propane to heat their tents and campers. We'd like to gift 5 families with enough fuel for the next two weeks. We need 5 people to donate $50-$100 each to achieve this goal!
3. Partnering with a local coffee shop just opening to provide free hot drinks while offering piglet snuggles in a blanket and spreading the word about their new business while warming hearts. ($300)
4. We'd love a "Jesus Loves You" fund of a few hundred dollars where as needs arise that may not be life-threatening (like staying warm) but heart needs that comfort the soul, we're able to purchase or make a difference in their hope level with a gift!
