With "some of the best vocals I have heard in my 12 years of writing for the Florida Today..."(FLORIDA TODAY) on top of a tight blend of feel-good rock-reggae, skankin' ska, and a touch of punk, every crowd is pleased by their performance.
-It was founded in 2012 when well-traveled musicians Mike Burns (Guitar/Vox/Trumpet) & Dustin Foster (Drums) crossed paths and started playing together
. They played and wrote for a year as a duo and in 2013, Evan Bernard (Bass) joined the group. And one year after that, the tight, accomplished group ran into multi-instrumentalist, Jake Salter, whom plays lead guitar/keyboard/backup vocals. The addition of Jake helped the band grow dynamically and gain a bigger sound, while freeing up front-man, Mike, to play more trumpet - which people are always extremely surprised to see a lead singer drop his guitar and pick up the trumpet.
-In just a year and a half as a band, General Eyes has grown exponentially. They have played all across the state; beach shows to larger venues such as their Opening slots for The Original Wailers, April 3rd 2014 & March 27th, 2015.
-Other notable mentions include winning 2nd place in the 48-Band 2013 Evermore Sound Battle of the Bands, winning $3,000 towards studio time, which they used in part to create their first full-length studio album, "Frequent Sea."
-Most recently, GE won 1st place (out of 27) in the Brevard Live Magazine Original Music Series Battle of the Bands, winning $2,000 worth of cash and prizes, including being the cover page for Brevard Live Magazine's February edition. GE has had multiple features in the Brevard's local Florida Today newspaper, including a full-page article/interview. Friday 5/15/15, GE will be aired on WFIT 89.5 at Noon with an interview & 3 song live set ON AIR. Even with great things happening to GE is an ego-free, all around crowd-pleasing band that retains the ideal of why music should be played; the love of it.
-GE has been a part of multiple fund-raisers, & most recently, they set up an all-day-event show on 5/17/15 for all proceeds to go to helping the victims of the earthquakes in Nepal.
