Sleepy Bee Flowers

Sleepy Bee Flowers Artfully arranged flowers locally grown with mindfulness from seed to bouquet
Feed the Earth and pr We are not a brick and mortar flower shop.

Starting May 1st (May Day) we will be offering bouquets and arrangements for delivery and events and will have our hand-tied bouquets available in select local shops. We are a small family who operates in the most environmentally conscientious way possible. Taking a Buddhist approach to flowers, we are strictly against the use of any products that have the potential to damage the Earth. Our flower

s are so clean that they are safe enough for bees to take refuge in overnight...and they certainly do! Although we are non-traditional, we think outside the box, so if you have an idea we would love to hear it! We will do whatever we can to accommodate the most funky and even seemingly outlandish requests! Weddings:
We are currently booking weddings for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. We only take one wedding per day (per weekend if the wedding is large) to provide the best possible service to our clients so dates are on a first come first served basis. 2022 Weddings will be offered at a deep discount due to this being our first year in business and the lack of images of our work. Please don't hesitate to send a message inquiring about our services. It will help to include some images of the colors and styles that appeal to you. Since we do not use imported flowers, we are limited on what we can provide. On the other hand, we can offer flowers that can't be sourced by traditional florists or are exuberantly priced since they are too sensitive to shipping. A lot of these flowers are the ones seen on Pinterest and in popular design magazines! If you are already working with a florist and they told you they can't get specific flowers, we may be able to supplement theirs with our own blooms at a cost comparable to that of their wholesalers, so feel free to have them contact us as well! We welcome LGBTQ+, multicultural and differently-abled clients with open arms! They make our world more beautiful! We look forward to making you smile! Adrienne, Jonathan and Jace

2024's sweet pea varieties! I'm ordering a few more from Roger Parsons the UK (it's nice to have a British boyfriend) I hope they make it through customs! There will be a nice dark pink and a deep wine. I probably won't be able to stick to two!

For Motherā€™s Day tulip bouquets I ordered double late mixed colorsļæ¼. They were a correctly labeled but when I actually planted in the fall were white fringed. Thereā€™s nothing you can say to make me feel better. For this fall I will order from a few different places instead of putting all of my eggs in one basket. Iā€™m just glad I didnā€™t book pre-orders.ļæ¼ļæ¼ļæ¼ļæ¼ļæ¼

The biggest mistake I see gardeners make is planting everything in May. NO NO NO! šŸ˜‚
I think I found the perfect vegetable growing guide! The only thing Iā€™d change is that you can start cucurbits (cukes, melon and squash) in pots 2 weeks before planting out.
They also have a Fall planting guide, also great!
Please feel free to pm me with any questions about growing! I can (and do) talk about it all day! The gardening community is made up of the most helpful people. Donā€™t be shy!

Pesticides have a dramatic impact on the health of ecosystems, posing real risks to pollinating insects, such as bees. But did you know that your favourite bouquet may be posing a risk to your own well-being?

Iā€™m taking an Autumn rest, thankful for all of the beauty Iā€™ve been able to be surrounded by, Looking forward to the future. The future is amazing! Hereā€™s whatā€™s coming in 2023ā€¦

March/April - Specialty daffodils, perfect for Spring wedding bouquets. Iā€™ve selected varieties for fragrance. If you havenā€™t smelled a daffodil, you wonā€™t forget it!

April/May - Tulips These arenā€™t your ordinary tulips! Frilly edges and double petals open up to look like roses! Some are as big as your hand!

May/June - Ranunculus in pastel shades for Spring and Anemone with their adorable dark centers will drive me crazy waiting for the perfect time to pop up. Stems arenā€™t very long, but once you see them, you will have to have them ! Thatā€™s why they are impossible to find! (Corms, the bulbs, will be available in Early Spring for planting)

Summer will begin with Larkspur, Love-in-a-Mist, Sweet William and perennials. Iā€™ll be trialing some interesting double sunflowers that look like they were pulled from Van Goghā€™s art! Sunflower proceeds will go directly to Ukraine to help in their efforts.

Later in the summer, Giant Zinnias blossom in brilliant colors. Fuzzy Celosia and aromatic basil awaken the senses. Then for the grand finaleā€¦DAHLIAS!

Over 100 varieties of dahlias will slowly start blooming in July and really take off in September. Iā€™m personally testing every variety, taking notes and cataloging each one. A carefully curated collection of dahlia tubers are in our futures for planting in your own gardens or you can skip the shovel and grab a cut bouquets

After the frost, Holiday greens will be made into hand wired wreaths and garland. Fresh local greens should last until the first flowers peek through the snow in Spring!

I stumbled upon this dahlia breeder in Veneta, Oregon. They have created some beautiful dahlias, some of which are their very own form! The communication I had with there was so kind, it makes me happy to know that the source for these flowers are such good people! Most of the tubers I ordered are exclusive, limited, and available for the first time this year and I can't wait to share them with you! There is a story behind every flower.

Goldenrod aka Solidago (to Florists) is not the one that is causing your allergies. Ragweed often grows near goldenrod. Itā€™s guilty by association, but is actually a native plant that is important to pollinators. If you see goldenrod in a bouquet, donā€™t throw it away! (kind of catchy!) And please stop blaming the guy standing next to the bad one! šŸ˜‚

I am thinking of offering ranunculus and anemone corms for next spring bloom.
They are top size bulbs and almost completely unavailable to the publicā€¦especially in these in demand colors. These are the exact flowers you see on Pinterest and Instagram. I will include instructions for your hardiness zone and will be available for questions. We may even do a grow along.
The colors are:
Ranunculus: Salmon, Pastel Lemon, Champagne
Anemone: Black and White, Pastel Mix
I would offer them in groups of 15 for $20. Limited quantities. Tax, Local delivery or Priority mail included. Please comment below the colors you would order or if youā€™d like a mix.
You can also check out Floret.com for more info on these rare and beautiful bulbs! I will include the direct link in the comments. šŸ
