Colby defeated Otero Junior College 32-19 at the Colby Event Center on Wednesday night. The Trojans will return to the Event Center on January 8th vs Northwest Kansas Tech. at 7 pm CT.

Mat Bash @ Northwest High school in Texas was a sight to see! We saw schools from Texas, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Missouri etc. Between great ex*****on of technique, discipline, hard nose guys ready to wrestling from start to finish and pin after pin was very entertaining to watch!

Also shout out the the women’s wrestling programs who showed out! Those young women were not to be messed with! We love seeing the surge in women’s wrestling!

Extremely proud of this young man! Chanden competed at Fargo for team Utah for the the first time at 138lbs and went 3-2. You truly are a gifted individual.💪🏾🔨

We’d like to take the time out to Welcome our new Trojan Isaac Ramos. Issac is an extremely talented and hard working young man who was able to qualify for state only after a few years of wrestling. This young man gets better with every rep and I expect him to do well at this level.🔨🔨🔨

Marco was a 2020-2021 national qualifier he was 1 match away from All American status going 2-2. He’s extremely talented and technical and I’m really looking forward to watching what he will accomplish this year.🔨🔨🔨🔨

Let’s give Tyler Fields a huge welcome back! Tyler had a tough start but through his hard work and dedication to his craft he was able to become a National Qualifier as well as Academic All American as a freshman. Big things coming for this young man this year so keep a look out🔨🔨🔨

Let’s welcome back Nation Qualifier Brandon Knoles . Brandon was a heavy weight state champ in high school and competed at 184’s this year. He persevered made the weight and the improvements to punch his ticket to the national tournament. Brandon is also a hard worker in the room and improved substantially this year. Excited to see what you do this year. His projected weight is 197’s

Extremely excited about having Zane “Z Money” Lucksavage back for another year. Zane battled through a lot of adversity this year and came out successful. He achieved not only being a National Qualifier but also an Academic All American in his first year. Look out for him this year he’s one of the hardest workers in the room with a really high ceiling. He’s projecting 141 this year.

Today at Colby Community College we were able to hang up some of the previous All-American portraits in our wrestling room dated from 1970-2003! We are so excited to have our wrestling room come to life, here is a little of what we were able to accomplish today.

Let’s welcome back a fellow Trojan Deterrence Ewing! DT competed at 285 this year and is an extremely explosive and powerful young man. He made a decision to cut down to 197’s and is very close to his goal. Excited to see what he does at this new weight 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🔨🔨

Quentin is a Ulysses, KS native, he has wrestled his entire life, multiple x state placer, Rocky Mountain Nationals champion, Collegiate National Qualifier & CCC Alumni when he graduates this May! (Just to name a few)

We are ECSTATIC to have you as a part of our coaching staff Q, we can’t wait to see you out there Coach!

This past weekend we traveled to Chanute, KS for Regionals hosted by Neosho!

125 Tyler Fields placed 6th
133 Quentin Pauda was voted in via Wild Card
141 Zane Lucksavage placed 5th
149 Eric Cane placed 4th
165 Cael Langford placed 5th
174 Mark Rausch placed 3rd & is now a 2x National Qualifer
184 Brandon Knoles placed 6th

We are extremely proud of these boys, they wrestled hard & it showed. We are excited to head out to Nationals in Council Bluffs, Iowa March 3rd & 4th!
