Expectations.
How can we expect to change when we remain the same?
Driving our kids to camp today I was thinking about the expectations we have for our kids in their sports and 4h. We always push them to do hard things and to try new things. But so often we ourselves don’t hold the same standards. Early in my farm wife years it was easier for me to be bitter to our farm that I didn’t know what I was doing or how to drive the tractor, be in the field, talk about farming….when in reality I was only limiting myself! Until I got the courage to try new things and let myself fail did my mindset ever change and let me love this life we lead and find a role within it all!
Watching NFR lastnight always puts a giant lump in my throat watching barrels as this is Laytons love. This year she got her courage and started working on and even entered a rodeo on a new mare. I’m so proud of her, but my drive today also made me so proud of me.
My goodness how far I have come. I hope you can say the same thing for yourself in some capacity!
I have done so many things wrong, failed in so many ways but that all brought me to where I am today. Without that try, I wouldn’t be here. I hope you go into 2024 with some try.
Try something new, cultivate courage to do hard things. You’ll never know if you can do it until you try! 🫶🏻

God put it on my heart several years ago to bring women in rural communities together to feel seen, heard and poured into. As mothers and women we put others before ourselves without knowing it more times than not. When the oxygen mask falls...I will be honest Im not sure Im grabbing mine before my kids and checking my husbands first. Right? No. I know. But that is how I function. In real life, that leaves me feeling depleted and overstimulated more times than not.
I love my family with all my being but I yearn for connection with other women like me. I feel MORE NORMAL knowing I am not alone in what I face, feel and go through on a day to day basis as a mother, wife, farmer, business owner, friend, aunt, sister, leader and the so many other roles I wear. It feels good to be reminded WHY my faith needs to come first and that God is always in my corner. It brings a sense of peace knowing that what I wear or look like wont be judged (especially when this is what I struggle with mentally more times than not) This event was created by me for women just like me. But for women in all walks of life, facing all seasons and yearning for the at same full cup.
It was made for you. From me. Through a calling God placed on my heart to fill a room so we could all feel his presence.
So why CC? This is exactly why. I am not begging anyone or over pushing sales because that is not what this is. This is something you feel called to come to. Something that has sat on your heart or wont leave your mind to want to sit in the same room. Its something that you have to want to come to FOR YOU. Because well you deserve to be poured into friend.
I want you to put you first just for a weekend and leave better than you come. Because you are worthy of that. I want to be the support system for you…the support s system in your home!
