DJ VSX DJ VSX has been a DJ since the mid 1990s working primarily in the goth / industrial scene.

Resident DJ for Club Sanctuary (Sacramento) and Club Velocity (Sacramento). I'm DJ Psychomanteum and have been a Northern California based industrial/goth DJ operating out of the Sacramento area since the late 1990s. I got my start at KDVS 90.3 FM as a community radio DJ and then branched out to club residencies for Sanctuary and Velocity in Sacramento. Right now, I'm doing the occasional set on Mixcloud and guesting at Absolution in Sacramento a few times year.

So, I realized a few weeks back one thing I really miss is doing my KDVS radio show. Back in the late 90s / early 00s it was a totally different vibe than DJing for Club Velocity and each two hour show heavily featured new releases with some older tracks mixed in.

In 2024, each month brings me several live streams and the occasional club DJ booking - both of those are largely geared towards responding to the audience I'm playing to. I want to again do something where I'm less focused on trying to nail decent mixes and playing "the hits" and more focused on showcasing the new music I've acquired.

"Digital Clipping" was the last show name I ran with as DJ VSX at KDVS so I decided to resurrect that with the "pilot episode" linked below. I know Mixcloud has its issues and since I can't justify a paid account there just yet I'll be limited to about 2 months of these being live at any given time. But, it's a start.

I'm not sure if I'll do the full two hours I used to do going forward or stick with the hour+ I did for the "pilot". We'll see. The plan is to put one of these out each week and since my life has stabilized into a routine finally I think that is doable.

Since it's come up a few times now...

1) Yes, we'll be moving in mid-January. However, we'll still be hitting up events in the Sacramento area scene with the same frequency we always have - it's just going to be a slightly longer drive is all.

2) Due to this move, we'll finally be living in a "permanent home" situation where I will have full control of the environment. This means we can finally add more visual aesthetics to the live DJ streams as we'll own the room we're streaming in and no longer have the limitations of renting someone else's room. So over the course of 2024, the plan is to improve the overall experience now that we'll be back streaming on a more regular basis.

3) I'm definitely interested in any and all guest DJ bookings for 2024 and my schedule is currently wide open... so if you're a DJ / promoter and are interested in having me at your event please get in touch.
