📢 Supporting Our Community & Veterans at Independence Court of Hyattsville ❤️🎖️

On Monday, February 3rd, we had the privilege of delivering over 60 gallon-size donation bags to Independence Court of Hyattsville, an assisted living community that has served both veteran and non-veteran residents for many years.

In the first photo, you'll see Dorothy Calloway (AUX), Patty James (AUX), a recipient from Independence Court, and Nate (LEG), representing our Legion Family.

This donation, made possible by the Ladies Auxiliary, ensures that every resident will receive an additional gift during their Valentine’s Day celebration on February 12th (see second photo).

While this effort was led by the Auxiliary, it was a Legion Family effort, representing ALL units—including the Legion and SAL. 🇺🇸

Hundreds of new students, including transfer students and exchange students, moved into the residence halls this past weekend for the Spring semester! 🎉

Expect a busier College Park as students settle in and explore their new home. Keep an eye out for pedestrians and bikers, especially near the center of town with the new bike lanes in full swing. Let’s all work together to keep our community safe and welcoming!

Key card access to the Legion changes starting in February. When you come out this Friday for Gary and the Grooves, don’t forget to bring your 2025 membership card. Show it to the bartender to receive your new key card.

This way, you’ll be all set to enjoy the band on February 7th without having to ring the doorbell. See you Friday!
