It’s Ultra Music Festival weekend, which means one thing—the Eddy Sound Lighting Lab is back in full force for our own watch party! After a hiatus in 2024 (because we were out making other shows happen), we’re back bigger and better than ever.

The setup? Next level.
◦ 66-panel SquareV V3w video wall for the live stream
◦ 56 lighting fixtures & 4 laser projectors on a massive truss structure
◦ Martin Audio THS speakers & SX218 subs bringing the chest hitting bass
◦ And just for fun; WPM line arrays so we can switch between different Martin Audio rigs throughout the weekend

Ultra isn’t just a festival—it’s inspiration. So while the DJs, VJs, and LDs are putting on an epic show in Miami, we’re busking along right here in the lab. A weekend dedicated to company culture, creativity, and a little bit of fun.

We always look forward to providing production services for Taste of Pikes Peak, and this past year was no exception! With The Reminders rocking the main stage and an energized crowd filling the street, it was a night to remember.

Our Martin Audio WPC sound system, rigged from VMB TL-A500 line array lifts, delivered crystal-clear sound that carried throughout the festival. Seeing our gear in action at one of our favorite events never gets old.

We’re also thrilled to share that this amazing event has been nominated for two Colorado Event Alliance ICON Awards—Best Public Event, Fair or Festival and Best Overall Event! Huge congrats to StudioQ for their incredible planning and ex*****on. We’re grateful they continue to trust us with so many of their fantastic events.

We’re thrilled to share our first-ever timecode featuring the IVL Photon and IVL Dice from Minuit Une—fixtures designed to create immersive, room-filling effects.

This project also marks a debut for our lead audio technician, Justin Miller, who stepped behind the lighting console to create this incredible show. Combining the IVL fixtures with X-Laser Skywriter HPX M-2s, Justin crafted a timecode that’s bold, immersive, and designed to captivate.

Lulu’s House Party No. 1—A Night to Remember!

On Friday, February 28th, Eddy Sound partnered with Lulu’s Downtown to bring Lulu’s House Party No. 1 to life, and what a night it was! Owners (Eddy Sound) & (Lulu’s Downtown) had a vision to bring a dance night to Colorado Springs, and went all in—Eddy Sound provided full production support with an epic lighting and laser package that transformed the space into an unforgettable experience.

The lineup: Local legends Souljuice, S-Champo, & Grand Dad Crunk proved that the Springs has serious talent, keeping the energy high all night.

The venue: Lulu’s Downtown set the perfect stage—an amazing space, incredible vibes, and a crowd that brought pure energy all night long.

This was just the beginning. Lulu’s House Party No. 1 was a massive success, and we can confidently say there’s more to come. The partnerships formed and the excitement from this event are just the start of something bigger.

Pre-COVID, the Lighting Lab at the Eddy Sound warehouse was a space where we built truss structures, covered them with lights, and tested our equipment while training employees. After making it through COVID—and experiencing exponential growth—the Lighting Lab has only returned a handful of times in the way it did during its peak. This photo marks a return to its original purpose: a small set designed to test new equipment and skillsets.

This image is also the first official unveiling of our Minuit Une purchase following LDI 2024. At the center is one IVL PHOTON, flanked by two IVL DICE. Staying true to our love of blending fixtures, we’ve added four X-Laser Skywriter HPX M-2s on a circle truss. The combination of Minuit Une and X-Laser products delivers a stunning, high-energy laser experience.

Yes, the picture is striking—but more importantly, it’s just a teaser. The real magic is in the time-coded laser show programmed on this rig, and we’ll be sharing that with the world very soon. If you think the photo looks epic, just wait until you see the video!

Just over two years ago, the Downtown Winter Fest brought Olympic spirit to the heart of Olympic City USA. Co-hosted by the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum and the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, the event was a vibrant celebration of winter sports and culture. Families enjoyed a full day of activities, live entertainment, and excitement for all things Olympic.

The stage was perfectly positioned between the stunning U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum and its iconic sign. Nestled beside the museum’s main entrance and elevated above Weidner Plaza, this location provided a striking backdrop for live performances. It was the ideal setting for Soul School to energize the festival, filling the crisp winter air with music throughout the day.

As the exclusive AVL provider for the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum, we’re proud to support events at this world-class venue. For Downtown Winter Fest, we delivered crystal-clear sound with a setup featuring (4) Martin Audio WPM line array speakers and (4) SX118 subwoofers per side, all powered by (2) iKON iK81 amplifiers. This powerful system ensured flawless audio performance from the first announcement to the final note, helping to create an unforgettable experience.

bringing the low-end energy to the 2024 UCCS Fall Concert headlined by Waka Flocka Flame.

We rolled in with a wall of bass, deploying 8 SX218s & 4 SXP218s in a broadside cardioid sub array for deep, controlled low-end that hit hard—right where it mattered. Our Wavefront Precision system delivered powerful, even coverage, with (6) WPC cabinets flown per side on VMB TL-A500 Line Array lifts, (4) WPM front fills, and (2) CDD-Live 12s for out fills. Stage monitoring was handled by (6) XE300 wedges and (2) SX118s for extra low-end support. Powering it all? (2) iKON IK42 Amp Racks and (3) IK81 Amplifiers driving clean, consistent output.

From setup to showtime, this rig helped create a high-energy atmosphere that kept the students moving all night. The event was a huge success, with an electric crowd, pounding bass, and an unforgettable performance.

Transforming trade show booths into unforgettable experiences — just one of the many services Eddy Sound can provide.

At this year’s D2DCON Direct Sales Conference in Salt Lake City, Cypher’s booth stood out on the convention floor with its bold, immersive design. Featuring (2) 45-panel SquareV V3w video walls and (4) MaxHub 4K 65” monitors, we created an engaging space for attendees to interact with Cypher’s team and experience their financial software up close.

Stunning lifestyle videos played on the video walls, creating a dynamic backdrop, while two of the MaxHub monitors displayed the software and the other two featured digital signage via content loaded onto the internal OS. LED fixtures illuminated the truss and added warmth and energy to the booth, inviting attendees to stop by and learn more.

A huge shoutout to the amazing teams at Eddy Sound and Cypher for making this a success!

It was a truly MEGA Christmas at Discovery Church Colorado for their “Simply Christmas” Christmas Eve services. With regular services on Sunday the 22nd, we had to get creative in implementing our signature over-the-top production—without it being noticed before the services on the 23rd and 24th. As the saying goes, “out of sight, out of mind,” and that’s exactly what we did. To complete the installation of additional lighting for Christmas Eve, we strategically hid the fixtures overhead, blending them seamlessly with the COSCityHub house rig. While there were a few extra fixtures on stage, the production team ensured they stayed out of sight until the Christmas Eve services to keep the surprise intact.

So, what made it so MEGA? The majority of the fixtures we used came from our MegaLite inventory: 16 EB1s, 16 EW1s, and 4 M-Spheres, all of which made a remarkable impact. To enhance the backlighting, we placed 8 Chauvet Professional STRIKE Array 2Cs on the ground, upstage of the performers. While we’ve added more lighting in the past, this time, careful fixture selection allowed us to create a substantial visual impact with just 44 additional lights, filling the room with epic beams of light.

Based on the thousands of photos we captured, we can confidently say that Christmas at DCC was once again a resounding success!

X-Laser’s LDI 2023 Booth → A Sneak Peek of 2024!

For the past two years, Eddy Sound has proudly partnered with X-Laser to design, transport, build, and program their booth for the Live Design International trade show in Las Vegas. Of course, this massive effort takes a team—so many talented people and companies collaborate to make this vision come to life. We’re just one piece of the puzzle!

Tomorrow, the 2024 show floor opens, and X-Laser will debut their Triton T Series IP65 laser projectors. We’re stoked to play a small role in showcasing such awesome innovation!

In early November, after nine months of planning and preparation, Eddy Sound was ecstatic to work alongside Visit Aurora to present the inaugural Aurora Borealis Festival. Our initial contact with Visit Aurora was to discuss the creation of an Aurora Borealis effect produced with high powered lasers. Of course no man-made effect can perfectly re-create the Northern Lights, but we were able to provide a breathtaking and immersive experience for the thousands of people in attendance each evening.

In addition to the Aurora Borealis effect, we time coded three laser shows. Each evening, we ran one 10-minute and two 5-minute shows when not showcasing the Northern Lights effect. To make this happen, we had 9 X-Laser Skywriter HPX M-20 laser projectors and 4 X-Laser Skywriter HPX M-10 laser projectors. To generate the atmosphere to see the Aurora Borealis and laser shows, we used 6 Ultratec Radiance Hazers, 8 HazeBase Hazer Pros, and 4 Antari F-6 Fazers. These units worked non-stop to assist in making what you see in this photo.
