Yesterday felt like a little reminder I needed. 💛
Lately, I’ve been putting an incredible amount of pressure on myself to be perfect — in business, in meal prep, in everything. I’m a perfectionist to my core, and I want every detail, every dish, and every experience to be exactly right every single time. Even though I know perfection isn’t realistic (especially when everyone’s ovens and crockpots behave differently), it still hits me hard when things don’t turn out exactly the way I pictured them.
So yesterday, when I spotted Elf cookies at Target, I took it as a sign. 🎄 I surprised my fiancé with a full-on Elf-themed dinner night — Christmas jammies, Santa hats, and the movie ready to go. I made brown butter maple syrup spaghetti (because… Elf 🤷♀️😂), maple butter popcorn, all our favorite candy, and of course hot cocoa… spiked, obviously.
It was silly, cozy, and exactly the mental reset I needed. Sometimes you just have to step away and enjoy something fun for the sake of fun — especially as a small business owner juggling a lot right now, with surgery ahead and a wedding that’s still very much in progress.
And to my amazingly supportive clients — thank you for your patience and understanding when things aren’t perfectly perfect. 💛 I truly am a perfectionist at heart, and while I wish every oven, crockpot, and kitchen appliance acted the same, they don’t. Please know I’m always giving my absolute best to deliver meals I’m proud of and that you’ll enjoy.
Your grace, kindness, and support mean more to me than you’ll ever know. 💛
