Ranunculus ✨ Layers and layers of delicate ruffles make this focal bloom a timeless crowd favorite. Making them look *just* right in an arrangement is not as effortless as it may appear though - their gorgeous large heads often cause delicate stems to droop or snap. If ranunculus will be used in your wedding designs, ensure it’s locally grown (sturdier stems!) or that the stems are wired to ensure they’ll be dancing and fluttering among your flowers all evening long!

This altar installation all began with an inspiration photo of a European flower market display. We filled eclectic baskets and pots with piles of lush blooms en masse to flank the Surf Hotel’s lovely stone archway. We couldn’t have been happier with how this one turned out. 👏🏼🤌🏼

These two weeks at the close of a year always have me reflecting and reminiscing on what feels important. What my priorities should be moving into a new year, what should get left behind.

In 2025, I’m prioritizing learning - learning new mechanics, honing design skills, ordering new-to-me flower varieties. When you work in a creative field, there’s so many options for inspiration, and my goal this year is to take intentional time to wander down creative rabbit trails more often to see what happens!

For this destination Broadmoor wedding, the florals blended masculine and feminine elements to reflect the bride and groom’s individual personalities. We took romantic, soft pink blooms and paired them with unexpected woodsy textures like twigs, berries, and seed pods. The result? Along with .events and a lovely vendor team, every detail of this day was a truly custom fit. ✨

Seems like due time for a little introduction! I’m Kristin, owner and lead designer at Kind Floral.

~ I’m originally from Kansas City, but moved to Colorado Springs over ten years ago to live near the mountains. I still can’t believe I get a mountain view just shopping at the grocery store.

~ I opened Kind Floral in 2020, at first uncertain about our exact direction - should we do pop-us, markets, retail, events? I realized that focusing exclusively on weddings - such a meaningful, anticipated time in someone’s life - resonated with me deeply.

~ I’m a sucker for a good period drama. Bonus points if it’s British, and extra bonus points if there’s flower arrangements in the set.

~ My favorite flower is butterfly ranunculus... but dahlias are a close second.

I can’t fully express what an honor it is to be trusted with something so personal as your wedding design. I’m looking forward to a 2025 calendar filled with beautiful couples and so many colorful palettes!
