Ackee is available through the year, it grows on a evergreen tree. It’s Jamaica’s National Dish some say it’s a fruit other says it’s a vegetable the debate still goes on, all I know it’s delicious when cooked right.

It pods are red they split open and exposed the edible vegetables when ripe and suitable for cooking.
