This lady is the visionary behind the venue. Without her, no one would have ever dreamt this beautiful venue into existence. She meticulously went over every aspect of it, from the charming barn to the cozy cottage. Her attention to detail and passion for creating a unique experience is evident in every corner of the property.

Sharon enjoys helping others, spending time with her grandkids, and giving her husband (Russell) projects.

She is pictured below enjoying the water with one of her grandkids (truly her favorite past time).

The venue was built so that every couple could have their magical fairy tale wedding, every company could have a relaxing place to retreat, every parent could afford to give a one of a kind birthday, and more. We take it personally. We are known to go above and beyond, and we prefer it that way.

It’s been awhile, but here’s a Decor Room Highlight that we just love!

We know that it is unconventional to put personal items in our businesses for the public to use, but some pieces are too beautiful to keep to ourselves. This lantern (along with a few more in our decor room) were actually left to our owner (Sharon King) by a dear friend when she passed away. So it is very sentimental, and we think of her every time we see this beautiful lantern being loved and used.

The lantern is made from iron and glass and is very heavy. This is one reason we love using it to help keep our “Oak Drapery” in place.

Even if you are already booked, be sure to clarify all of your expectations and ask as many questions as you can think of to all vendors! If you are unsure of what times you can be at your venue, ask before you schedule your photographer, hair dresser, etc. If you expect your florist/baker to deliver, ask to be sure it’s a service they offer.

Bridal tip of the week!

🎉Keep your party members close🎊

This is NOT talked about enough, so this week I’m giving you a tip as someone who has been apart of a LOT of weddings in one way or another. I have been a close friend helping pull last minute details together, a Bridesmaid, a Maid of Honor, a Bride, and now a Venue Manager. Your Bridal and Grooms party members will shape your planning, YOUR day, and after.
The right Maid of Honor can make a world of difference on helping Brides manage their stress level leading up to the day of, and the day of. The right Bridal party can make planning fun, while an ill-picked party can be a complete nightmare. When picking your bridal party, think ” who will be completely selfless and go out of their way for me.” This may sound selfish, but your Maid (or Matron) of honor will be standing next to you and can be the difference in your long beautiful train being perfectly fluffed in pictures, or an awkward wadded up ball of tulle that you will be looking at with distaste for the next 30+ years. The right person will risk the pain of a bee sting with a smile on their face because they know you will have the pictures forever, while the wrong person will pick their fingernails while you say your “I do’s,” with little to no care. A good best man will help to ease any nerves and help ease tensions, while an ill picked one will stir trouble.

Hand tasks off!

You will be busy getting ready, so don’t make your day harder than it needs to be. Hand tasks off to people before the day of. Tasks like organizing the food/food displays, double checking the arrangements, following up with any of your vendors and making sure they are set up where you want them, are all examples of tasks that can be easily handed off to other people.

Pro Tip: Make sure whoever you are handing the tasks to know your vision, and do a walk through a couple hours before guests are to arrive so any adjustments can be made if needed.

Bridal Tip of the week!

If you want a pet in your wedding here are a couple tips⬇️

1. Training is key! Of course you should make sure your pup is house trained, and will not have any untimely accidents, but your day will go much more smoothly if your fur baby has an idea of the task they are to perform. So spend time teaching your pup to walk on a leash, to sit, and to stay well before your wedding date.

2. Enlist someone to keep up with your pup throughout the day, a handler if you will.
With the hustle and bustle of weddings, you won’t have time to make sure your pup gets all the care they need to make the day go smoothly for not only your guests, but also your four legged companion! This person will be in charge of your pups potty breaks, water, finding a cool place to relax before and after their wedding day tasks, handling in and out of photos, helping them down the aisle or any task you may have planned.

Pro Tip: Bring your pup to your final walk through so that they may will already be familiar with the surroundings, and won’t be quite as stressed on the day of.
Pro Tip #2: Your pup should be familiar with whoever their “handler” for the day will be. So make sure they have sow time to get familiar with one another before the day of.
Pro Tip #3: Get your fur baby groomed a week before, and then a bath the day before. This ensure if there are any knicks or accidents during grooming, they have a little time to blend, and that your pup will be nice and clean for pictures (and not getting anyone’s attire dirty).

Highlight Tuesday!

This week I am choosing a super versatile piece that can be used inside or outside. You can set them out with one of our LED candles in the middle for a simple elegant look, or dress them up with florals or greenery for a more personalized look. I missed Highlight Tuesday, so we are going with Highlight Thursday this week 😎

Last weeks Highlight was chosen for its versatility, so I’m switching it up this week and going with something a little more specialized.

This week I’m going with this little sign. We often have dessert bars here, and this is the cutest little addition to that. Being black and white, it easily fits into the style of almost every wedding, and it adds height to a table if you need help balancing. You can’t go wrong pairing this with our Marshmellow and Whipped Cream blocks either.
