Main Street Abbey is located in the cozy, small town of beautiful Columbia, IL. Built in 1866, the Abbey was an old Catholic church, and a staple of Historic Main Street for over 130 years, the Abbey has since been renovated into one of the areaโs premier event spaces.
This 6,600 square ft church took seven years to build, all with donated lumber, stone and labor. 1907 meant improvements for the building, including an addition, an electric generator to power lights for the altar and a clock in the bell tower. Another addition doubled the size of the church in 1909, followed by a complete remodel in 1927. In 2013 the congregation moved into a new Church, paving the way for what is now, Main Street Abbey.
Just fifteen minutes from downtown St. Louis, MO, Main Street Abbey is a unique place to host your wedding, corporate event, fundraiser, or holiday party.
