April showers, bring May flowers {Hello peony season!}…and often times more May showers 🌧️ .
One of the many perks of selecting Spring for your wedding season is so much of the South couldn’t be prettier. On the other hand, it’s rainy season.
As a Wedding Planner, you always need to have a rain plan, be ready to pivot to said plan, lead vendors through new plan, and readjust said rain plans for each client and venue. A lot of times the rain becomes a main character on the wedding weekend! Different venues dictate different approaches - whether officially adding your rain plan tent that was on hold, or sourcing side walls to an existing tent for blowing rain, renting high power fans to dry out wet draping or muddy grass, passing out umbrellas you brought onsite, sweeping water out of patio area with poor drainage, adjusting ceremony times to avoid rain, switching first look photos to be inside reception space, or having to move a band inside because of blowing rain damaging their equipment - I’ve seen it all! Weather is the one thing vendors have no control over - but having the right team in place to work together to implement the backup plan is of the utmost importance.
