Hello everybody!
Some of you are probably aware of the rezoning project currently under way here at Show Me Farms. We have heard some chatter about our intentions and structural plans. I would like to clear up some misconceptions and answer any questions one may have.
1. We are only wanting to rezone 10 ACRES…not the whole farm.
2. The only building that is being torn down is the unsightly grey metal building. We will be building a new barn-like structure to hold agricultural equipment and place a horse stall on the back side in event of ever having horses on the farm for agriculture or leisure use.
3. We will need to pave the entire parking lot and driveway.
4. Fire hydrant will be placed by the road at our expense…this will benefit the entire area.
5. A water retention pond to be landscaped nicely and possibly have gazebo for ceremonies or pictures.
6. Noise – We want to be neighborly we have included in our plan to have all outside amplified noise shut down by 10pm and all inside amplified noise to terminate at midnight. For an extra sound barrier, we had closed cell spray foam insulation installed that is at least 4-6 inches thick on ALL EXTERIOR WALLS and the roof. I have cranked up the stereo and we have had a band perform for one of your own company parties and one could barely hear the sound at our mailbox. Many of the concerns we have heard from the community are centered around noise. Since the drafting of our plan we have made some county proposed concessions that could be more restrictive than this, but these are the details I have in writing as of now. Additionally, I would like to emphasize the fact that most all of the events we will host will be “inside” events with the sound mitigation benefits of our sound suppressing insulation.
7. Intentions- We have had several individuals reach out to use the barn for various activities.
a. Birthday party
b. Company events and company business meetings
c. Wedding
d. A family Christmas celebration
e. A family thanksgiving celebration
We have absolutely no interest in renting this facility for a keg party or rage party. I would prefer to keep it to daily rentals like birthdays, graduations, and family celebrations.
I understand the concerns, but please if you have questions reach out to Brian or myself. While one may feel they are doing a favor by explaining our intentions they unfortunately do not have the facts. I have a plan map and will be available this weekend to show the property and answer questions.
