In today’s radio drama, we find Joe, who, while out looking for work, Joe watches a man collapse on the street. Thinking him dead, Joe takes the money out of the man's wallet and leaves the scene. He later learns that the man has been buried, but he might not have been dead after all. Joe's life is turned upside down by fear and guilt as he struggles to rectify his “grave” error. Maplewood Barn Community Theatre and The Brick District Playhouse are proud to present our first ever joint production, “The Importance of Being Earnest” (Feb. 14-16). Leading up to the performances, we’ll be highlighting the hardworking and talented cast and crew!

Finally, today we highlight the upright and high-moral-toned (and secretly not) Mr. Jack Worthing (Aaron Howard), and the fun-loving and scandalous Algernon Moncrieff (Ryan Carter)!

Thought to be Wilde's best work, “The Importance of Being Earnest: A Trivial Comedy for Serious People,” is a hilarious and poignant satire of Victorian era social hypocrisy. It’s the story of two bachelors who create alter egos named Ernest to escape their tiresome lives. The pair struggle to keep up with their own stories and become tangled in a tale of deception, disguise and misadventure and, of course, romance.
