Pretty cool video of the competition BBQ world! It was filmed in 2003, but even 21 years later it still applies. The only major difference is the price of the meat lol

Burg bash results!

8th in ribs
13th in pork
11th overall.

First contest since January. Felt good to dust those cobwebs off! Getting a walk in any sanction is a great result in my book. Judges left some good table notes that we will take into consideration next comp. GA, judges here like FLAVOR flavor. Definitely don’t go light on seasoning. I thought I was heavy and they told me it was “bland”. Oh well! We scored high, and the top 10 was super tight!

Even though 2023 has barely begun…the highlight so far has been our 6 year old daughter, Addie, competing in her first kids pork chop competition at The Shed BBQ and Blues Joint Showdown in January and winning 10th place!! She was the ONLY GIRL among the winners!! 💕
BBQ competitions can truly be a family event!

Not to mention the 2nd half of BPBBQ won
10th place in our very first Bloody Mary contest!!

What a day at our first ever Steak Cookoff Association contest!

We placed 5th in ribs, and 13th in steak. Little dissapointed with not getting a call in steak, but hey, it's our first go at it! We got perfect scores on doneness and appearance, so that's all I can ask for. Just gotta work on that comp taste!

Overall an incredible experience. I was the only "first timer" out there surrounded by seasoned pros with big name sponsors, but at least 5 other teams came to our tent to get to know us and give us some tips and tricks. How cool is that!
