We’re feeling thirsty for some shoulder burn on this Thirsty Thursday. So, we’re getting our pull ups and chin ups on.
Pull Ups:
1. Place your hands in an overhand grip (palms facing away from you) with hands slightly further than shoulder-width apart. If you can’t reach the bar, place a box beneath you to help.
2. Lift your feet up from the floor or box so that you’re hanging from the bar, and engage your core. Engaging the muscles in your arms and back, bend your elbows and raise your body toward the bar until your chin is over the bar.
3. As you move, avoid swinging your legs or shrugging your shoulders up. You want your shoulder blades to remain back and down throughout the exercise.
4. At the top of the movement, inhale. Then extend your elbows and lower your body back down to the starting position.
Chin Ups:
1. Repeat the same movement with an underhand grip (palms facing your body).
Repeat until those shoulders are begging for mercy.
