One more day til this beautiful young lady Sarah’s Birthday !!! Some random shots of her during the Midgard Comics and Entertainment OHIO days . Crazy days full of good and bad where this Kid grew up in a comic store and around so much of her dad’s rock n roll and nerd goofball antics. My profile pic is me at Harvey Pekar’s grave in Cleveland . The leaves hide the fact that it is covered in pens stuck in ground as a tribute to the indi comic legend writer creator. I discovered American Splendor comics over 30 plus years ago and Harvey’s work inspired me to do more than super hero comics . A blend of my real life rock n roll drama with ridiculous and crazy fun Sci Fi fiction and fantasy.
So looking forward to the completion of the Rock n Roll Splendor 20th anniversary issue late summer early fall with a personal fan geek dream cover collaboration by Gary Dumm and Michael Neno!!!!

The iconic photo of Prince Buster dancing with Brigette Bond was taken at the London Airport on this day, the 25th of February, 1964. The image would be published in a May 1979 issue of Melody Maker and become the inspiration for Hunt Emerson's The Beat Girl, aka the English Beat logo, and quickly become synonymous with Ska.

My past 12 hours with a few hours sleep…. Amazing Kills show at the Newport openers The Paranoyds were fab as well. Day two of Keith Cretin s reflections on a life as a guitar zombie …. Props n thnx are due as i for sure never thought ide be playing now after retiring and shelving my Rock n Roll efforts in 2006 …
Thankyou Fredric Hunt for pushing me to do Ramonesathon and come out of retirement and Thankyou Catherine Cöllier Grassel for suffering the early Joey74 growing pains . Me being the pain😉
Thankyou Julian Johnston and Jordan Chasteen for all your Joey74 efforts keeping the Ramonescore project rolling throughout its existence. THANKYOU
Brian Clash for allowing me to be a part of your Rock n Roll story being an amazing friend and supporting me on so many levels as well as being a much needed voice of reason and resolve during a dark time when I needed it most . ✌️🤘👊 Thankyou Todd Greer for being a super friend and for including me in your “Bad Idea” of me jamming with tOd and the Bad Ideas pushing me to play with so much positive reinforcement leading to my eventually being rhythm guitarist . Thankyou Bad idea bandmates Mark Brennan and Jae Entsminger for always being supportive and though so outclassed in the talent department amongst you always making me feel that my contributions mattered. The “punk rock bass player” is still not comfortable as a guitar player but you guys fueled my confidence and silenced a lot of negative thoughts. I would also like to thank John Widner Steven Day Carter Willie Phoenix who during my music journey and my introductions and involvement with them did everything to make me at ease and defused all my intimidation while I nervously guitar and bass fumbled in their presence 😊
I could go on n on about so many others but this rambling post is for the the Trifecta of Cretin music family Joey74 ,Coffee house Rebels , Tod and the Bad ideas all leading to me now in Atomic Zombies!

Thanks to all the amazing C-bus rock n roll peeps who braved the weather and rocked the last night with Atomic Zombies at The Brian Clash Band Live at Spacebar with Red Velvet Letdown & Atomic Zombies! Red Velvet Letdown was no let down in the high energy loud guitar department with The Brian Clash Band starting the fire on stage !! Peter Morrison and I/Keith Cretin had a blast playing ,met some new friends and were stoked to have some long time friends with us for a great night of guitar shenanigans !!! As weekends go it’s been a super start !

As a former member now fan friend of both bands ,(old pix seen below) I cannot wait for Peter Morrison and I to share a stage and rock out with two such amazing line ups of awesome friends!!!!

In 2018, local Columbus musician Keith Cousineau organized SONGS for SARAH, a tribute to his daughter who was born with mitochondrial disease. The first show was a tremendous success, and each year it gains momentum, increasing awareness and raising research dollars for the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.

This year marks the 6th concert, with performances by Atomic Zombies [Keith's band], School of Rock Gahanna, Nameless Faces, and tOd and the Bad Ideas.

Small world Jonny Warner a Midgard Comics and Entertainment OHIO alumni , his band was called "Purple Sticky punch" ...well he was the guy running sound at last year's Songs for Sarah benefit show. He sent this blast from the past photo bomb..As always it was great seeing kids from those crazy days doing so well now and sharing there stories past and present.
