Our Vegetable Paella is our most underrated paella, but definitely one of our personal top favorites!

The back story— we constantly exchange food with our next door neighbor… but their oldest daughter is vegetarian & whenever she’s home, she never gets to partake in our dishes! We promised to make her a vegetable paella for the longest time and we finally got around to it last February & she loved it! She took the tray back to her apartment and didn’t share with her family 🤣 We ran it back with a few of our vegetarian and vegan friends and they loved that it was extremely flavorful, full of protein & kept them full.

To our Vegetarian and Vegan followers, this one is for YOU! You guys were top of mind when constructing this paella and we’re proud to offer this dish as it checks off all of the boxes below.

We (CBG) tend to use the word “Milestones” a lot. We, as a team like to celebrate every win no matter how big or how small. Yesterday we achieved yet another one of our goals. A goal we had written down in the early days of CBG.

That goal was to bring the Kamayan experience to Napa County. A place that we felt needed to experience Filipino cuisine.

Award winning journalist, Lisa Ling stated in her latest show “Take Out- with Lisa Ling “ that the Filipino’s path to the mainstream will be for people to experience Kamayan. We couldn’t agree more. Kamayan is a very special tradition in Philippine culture.

“Kamayan” is the traditional Filipino method of eating with the bare hands. It is also used to describe the Filipino communal feast where food is served on banana leaves and eaten without utensils.

We did this in Napa County.
Last month, we paired Filipino cuisine with some of Napa Valleys finest wines. This time around, we celebrated 50th birthday with a Kamayan feast.

This is yet another milestone for CBG. And we are thankful for the opportunity & for giving us the platform to fulfill our dreams and goals.

We hope that this will be the first of many Kamayan experiences here in Napa County.

Happy International Paella Day!

Today is the day that the rice is harvested and Valencians celebrate their delicious dish with the world.

It is also the day that 10 chefs from all around the world compete in World Paella Day. Huge congratulations to the chefs from France, Argentina & Finland for winning the competition!!! We hope that one day we’ll be able to compete with these elite chefs 😅

Last week we did our first corporate event & it was such an amazing turn out!

We served ~250 hungry employees & had 3 paellas + 3 tapas options on the menu. This was probably the fastest service we’ve ever done as we plated nonstop to keep up with the crowd. It was so amazing to see everyone enjoying & raving about our dishes!

Huge shout out to Linda for finding us on Pastel & booking us to cater an employee appreciation happy hour. We’re extremely grateful for this opportunity & excited to provide an amazing paella experience to more events around the bay! ☺️

First off, we’d like to thank for putting on such a large scale event for sooo many small & talented businesses. We are so thankful for each event that we’ve participated in because it has challenged us in so many ways & it has helped us grow our business.

For this specific event, we challenged ourselves to make individual paellas. This has been something that Christian has been wanting to do for the longest time and we finally made it happen!!

We also would like to thank all of the vendors & customers who came out to support us. Whether we fed you or you stopped by to show us some love & watch our paellas being made, thank you!

Lastly, thank you for the fam for helping us run our business. We wouldn’t be able to do this without you guys

🥳 On todays menu- our 65cm Signature Paella catered for a 1st birthday party in San Mateo today. A small and intimate group was to fully enjoy the paella experience being cooked in their backyard.

The host told Christian that they love our paellas because of the amount of meat in it compared to other local spots!!!

Here’s a before & after picture once everyone received their first round! Our 65cm pan was the perfect fit ☺️

Our Paella Negra is such a showstopper & also Christian’s favorite menu item.

That umami flavor from the squid ink is what makes this paella so delicious & I promise there’s paella rice under all that seafood 😋

Another amazing event!!!

Thank you for hosting such an amazing event! We’ve been looking forward to this pop up & it did not disappoint.

Thank you to everyone for pullin up & supporting us! It was amazing to see soo many people enjoying our dishes. We’ll be running it back in January. If you missed out this weekend, we’ll be back soon.

Tortilla de patatas

& if you don’t, let me tell you… it’s my FIL’s (father in law’s) speciality, along with his garlic aioli. As a teen, he lived + worked in Madrid. He would crank out these Tortilla de Patatas & serve it with freshly sliced baguettes and garlic aioli at the restaurant he worked for.

He started making them on Kailani’s first birthday, when we first showcased two paellas & it was all hit… to a point where my auntie hid an entire tortilla from everyone so that she could take it home.

For now, it’ll only be available on our catering menu + it may make special appearances here & there on our pop up menu ☺️

I’m still mind blown by how amazing event was. This event is definitely one for the books for us… we have NEVER sold out 2.5 hours into an event, until last weekend!!!
