For years, we’ve said no to projects because we know this isn’t our forever home.

This fall, we pulled a complete 180 and planted all the peonies, daffodils, and another row in our little orchard - and I already have big plans for next year😉

We love this home and this property, and the amazing history it holds. And while we might not be here forever, we’re going to leave it better than we found it❤️

Well, I caved.

I ended up ordering a couple hundred tulip bulbs, just to enjoy in our own home next spring. Blame it on the amazing flower farmers I follow sharing pictures of them this time of year😉

Only a couple of weeks until we get to slow down for the winter - but planting bulbs has officially been added to the giant to-do list! Do you think we can get all this done by the end of the month?

1. Move the raised beds
2. Till and plant 160 peonies
3. Plant all the bulbs!
4. Start prepping the dahlia field for next year
5. Set up the veggie garden
6. DESIGN STUDIO! (Or at least pouring the concrete)

I can’t control the wasted food that our daughter throws off her tray, but I can put this extra eucalyptus in the stand this weekend before our first real frost gets here.
Less waste for us, and a little more beauty in your homes as we wrap up our season!

Shouting a huge thank you to those of you that stopped for bouquets during our final week of the growing season! Thanks to you, we were able to send supplies to those affected by Hurricane Helene🤍

Well, it’s finally here.
The last week of our 2024 growing season!
While we never know the exact date of first frost, we’ve decided to close on October 6th this year.

Custom orders are available through next Sunday, and we still have spots in our subscription program for 2025 - check out our website for details!

When we planted our dahlias in front of the barn earlier this summer I had a grand vision of wandering through a dahlia jungle on foggy mornings with a hot cup of coffee in hand. I was CONVINCED we would be drowning in these beauties and opening the stand every.single.weekend.

Once again, this flower journey is teaching us humility and we’re already planning for next year’s changes. We’ll be giving the front of the barn one more try with a different kind of flower in 2025 - any guesses on what will be out front next year?!

In the meantime, it’s still not a bad view😉

When I tell people we have a flower farm, one of the first reactions is usually “Your garden must be so beautiful!”
In reality, we normally don’t get to enjoy fully opened flowers. We try to cut most flowers before they’re open so that you get to enjoy them for as long as possible in a vase!
This patch of sunflowers is such a treat for us. We planted them late and with subscriptions already done and the end of our growing season quickly approaching, I’ve been coming out to the garden every morning just to enjoy the cool weather, drink my coffee, and stare at these beauties😍

Spent a couple hours before work this morning with a headlamp and iced coffee, battling mosquitos and harvesting the most gorgeous cart of flowers 💐 We’ll be at @sanfordfamilybeef this weekend with mixed bouquets, sunflower bunches, and maybe even a few pumpkin bouquets 🎃 Come see us along with so many other great vendors, we’ll be at the market from 10-3 (and if you can’t make it, custom orders are always just a message away!)

Spent some time in the garden this morning and felt hopeful for the first time in a while. We lost most of our crops to some drift from the farmers who plant the field around us. Did we let that get us down? Absolutely. Did we also plant hundreds of sunflowers in the empty spaces we were left with? You bet. I can confidently say that this season is going nothing like how I thought it would, but I’m constantly learning to adapt, what to grow, what not to grow, and how to enjoy the flowers we do have 💐 We’ll have a few extra bouquets available this week on Tuesday and Wednesday, in addition to our weekly subscriptions. As always, message us to order!

Sometimes it feels like owning a small business is just constantly learning from my own mistakes. And man, was this weeks mistake expensive! I’ve never bought a large amount of flowers from another grower without already having orders from customers, but I figured everyone must love peonies as much as I do - right?! Wrong. I’m sitting on the tailgate of my truck, staring at a cooler full of peonies that are waiting for homes, but might just end up filling my house🤷🏼‍♀️. I’m not sharing as a way to ask for pity, or even to complain. Just know that if you’re a small business owner, mom, employee, wife, etc. - we’re all constantly making mistakes, and you’re not alone💐

Now that Thanksgiving is over, we’re knee deep in Black Friday shopping. Oh, and 2023 Subscriptions are LIVE!
