My heart is full, Sunday I hosted my official re-opening of my venue space @atthevenue_unionstreet . Although it's not easy, I'm grateful for the journey and the process of trusting God because it can't be done in my own might. I'm Keonna Monique, born & raised in the Queen City....a true Charlottean. I'm first a child of God, wife, mother of two young men, educator, & business owner, to name a few.
I'm a high school special education teacher, embarking on year 23! I attended the prestigious WSSU and studied psychology. I earned my Masters in Special Education from UNCC.
I started my business in 2005. Fun fact...I jump-started my business by creating themed custom treats and tables....self taught & YouTube..lol! My specialty was cake pops and cakesicles @atthevenue but the goal has always been to own a venue space. Just start!
Throughout my childhood, my mom celebrated me on my birthday with themed parties, I absolutely loved them. I believe this sparked my love for events.
I feel blessed to deliver a space for celebrating life, creating unforgettable memories, and cultivating a culture for business owners and creatives to share their craft through workshops and classes.
