Lots of first day of school photos today. I will add to the mix with this first senior of the class of 2025. I have taken tons of cheer photos of Nicole over the last 3 years but none that I enjoyed more than her senior photos. Always smiling and always positive, she will do great things in the future, and I am so happy she and her mom, Sonya, gave me the opportunity. If you are a senior or a parent of a senior I would love to work with you. I still have a few spots for the fall so let's chat.

Seniors and parents of seniors in the class of 2025, it's time to start thinking about senior photos. I love all types of photography, but senior photography holds a special place for me. One of the most common questions I get is "When should I book?" If you are considering having senior photos made in the fall, I recommend booking in July to secure the most sought-after dates in October and early November. Two of the Saturdays in October and one Saturday in November are already booked with weddings and seniors so if fall is in your plans, I encourage you to book soon. Additionally, if you are unsure about what you are looking for in senior photos or would like to meet up and discuss your ideas, I am happy to do so. I know you have other options for photographers, so I appreciate being considered.

Each year its always bittersweet to do this post. As the school year ends and we look forward to summer and the Class of 25 getting their time, we have to say Happy Graduation to the Class of 24.

As I have said before, I would put my senior class up against any. Each of these young men and women made my job easy and I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to do their senior photos. Graduation fun this week and a bright future ahead for each of them.

As Central Cabarrus has had its historic run over the last few years in basketball, I have been fortunate to do senior photos for a number of the departing seniors from the team. It was great to get to do senior photos for Noah Edmisten and add him to that group. Multiple state championship rings is a pretty significant high school memory as he graduates this week. Rain kept us inside during this shoot, but we still got lots of great basketball and interior shots. Thanks to him and his mom, Heather, for the opportunity.

It's really cool the way some things just naturally line up. I shot senior photos for Nevaeh Ledbetter earlier this spring as she prepares to graduate from Bradford Prep. Shortly after we got those done, her mom, Shellye, asked me about doing some photos for her as well. She is graduating from nursing school and starting work in the Cardiovascular ICU unit at the hospital. How awesome is that.

This is the second time I have done a parent and their child graduating different levels at the same time and I think its such a great memory. And, of course, we had to have Nevaeh come get in a few pictures with her mom as well.

JM Robinson senior Hayden Parlier is headed off to Engineering school at UNCC in the fall. I really appreciate the opportunity to do his senior photos and capture some baseball shots too before he graduates.

It is senior Sunday and doing photos with D.J. Kent was lots of fun, despite the rain outside while we were shooting. Two-time state champion, two-time state championship MVP but more importantly, great young man. He and his family are great friends and I appreciate Bronwyn and Mike giving me the opportunity. Next stop Dunk Mountain.

Central Cabarrus senior Ashley Cook and her mom, Denise, and I started planning for Ashley's senior photos in October and it was great to finally get to put our plan into action. Clearly the camera loves her, and we managed to capture her love for the gym in the process. She will do great at UNCC in the fall.

After doing senior photography for a while, one of the best experiences is when you get a chance to do photos for a sibling of a previous client. I photographed Gracie Spears a few years ago and now I had the chance to photograph Brayden Spears. Great family and I know Brayden will do big things at App in the fall.

Over the years I have shot a lot of families and a lot of seniors. Going into my session with the Hookers, I told Melissa they were breaking my record. I had photographed 3 seniors in one family before but never 4. Logan, Andrew, Nate and Madelyn all did great and we all laughed a lot shooting the photos. We even managed to get a few of the whole family as well. I really appreciate the opportunity.

Justin Rogers’ mom, Jessica, and I have been talking about his senior pictures since the beginning of his senior year. I have taken many football photos of him over the years but capturing both his sport side in the weight room and his easy going personality in these was great. Justin is a high a character young man and will do great at Catawba both as a student and a football player.

I am fortunate to get to know so many special kids and their families doing photography. None more special than the Pressleys. Good friends. I had the pleasure of doing Emilee’s senior pictures a few years ago. Now doing Rachel’s is so cool and I look forward to seeing her do her thing for Catawba softball too. Big stuff ahead

One of the questions I get almost every year is if I have any experience shooting senior photos for twins or brother/sister combos. Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to shoot a number of twins and family combos and it's always fun.

This year I got that opportunity with Mary and Emily Rosenschein. What makes it even cooler is their mom, Debbie, is a teacher at Central Cabarrus. I always appreciate any opportunity to shoot seniors but as much as I work with Viking nation, it's always special to shoot children of a staff member.

First up is Mary Rosenschein. I know the folks at Bradford Prep will be sad to see her go but with her college choices, she has a really bright future ahead.

One of the best things about being a photographer is the friends you make. Sometimes your friends first, and that leads to photos, sometimes people see photos and that leads to being friends. In the case of Hickory Ridge senior Lauren McBride and her family, they saw photos and gave me the opportunity to do her senior photos and I am really glad they did. She is a natural in front of the camera and it shows in her photos.

I love getting to do senior photos with kids and their families. It’s extra cool when I get to do a catch up session with someone like Max Manigan and his family. I had shot some photos for him last year as well. Concord Academy will hate to see him go I’m sure. Thank you Sekeitha Manigan for the opportunity.

With so much going on this week with Central basketball, its easy to forget that spring has arrived! One of the best parts is spring senior photo sessions. I recently got to hang out with Brooke Vandergrift and her mom, Sarah, to capture her senior photos. Needless to say, when she decides on which college is right for her (think Carolina Brooke lol), they will be getting a great young lady. Big thanks to her and her mom for giving me the opportunity.

With so much going on personally due to my dad's illness, I have fallen behind on some of my editing. Im happy to say that I have mostly caught up now and one of the seniors I definitely want to share is Katherine Coley. She has been so active and successful during her time in high school I feel like I have known her and her parents forever, and that's a good thing. No doubt she has a really bright future ahead of her. Thank you to Shannon and Andy for giving me the opportunity to do her photos.

I recently got a chance to shoot senior photos for Viking MLB Jack Colligan. It was cool hanging out with Jack, his mom, Anne, and his sister as we shot these.
