In light of developments regarding COVID-19, we want to proactively provide details and additional transparency around our cleaning processes.
There is currently no evidence that COVID-19 can be transmitted from soft surfaces like fabric or carpet to humans. In addition, our cleaning agents and practices are designed to kill viruses such as the common cold and flu. Our fulfillment centers will continue to use a variety of techniques to ensure that each garment is thoroughly cleaned, steamed and pressed, inspected for quality.
According to the CDC, flu viruses are killed by heat above 167°F.
There is no need to take any special precautions at this time. The CDC advises that the dry cleaning process, which includes cleaning and pressing, is an effective method for sanitizing laundry.
With our customers and employees well-being in mind, we are closely monitoring recommendations from the WHO and the CDC.
We are also a part of the "Dry Clean and Laundry Institute" which is a large organization that has been around since 1883, and represents over 10,000 dry cleaners all over the United States. They are also keeping a diligent eye on this outbreak and will surely update us as things progress with recommendations and guidance as needed.
