Long heartfelt post from Daved;
I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the wonderful customers who have supported me throughout the years. Your prayers, texts, calls, and cards during my unexpected illness meant the world to me. There have been some rumors circulating about my health, so I wanted to set the record straight myself.
In October, I experienced two life-threatening seizures due to a reaction to new medication, which led to me being on life support for four days. Thankfully, there was no stroke or need for a nursing facility, but I did have to spend three weeks in the hospital for rehabilitation. After consulting with my doctors and my spouse, it was decided that I should step away from my business due to future health concerns and a recent diagnosis of a form of dementia.
Despite some interest from potential buyers, it was ultimately decided to close the business as I have no one to pass it on to. I am proud to say that I have received several prestigious awards in recent years, including being named Horry County Florist of the Year 2023 and South Carolina Florist of the Year 2024.
I am truly grateful to have been a part of so many special moments and memories over my 50-year career in the floral industry. Whether it was happy, sad, or joyful occasions, I have been honored to support your events, church functions, school functions, and more. This is not a farewell, but rather a "see you around." I may return to work in a different capacity in the future.
As I adjust to my new normal, I ask for your prayers and support. While I may not be working 60 hours a week, I plan to spend more time volunteering, focusing on self-care, and even doing some traveling. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and may God bless each and every one of you.
