Love ,love ,love perennials can not wait to get in t he gardens again !

TUESDAY’S TIP: Take advantage of winter sales at your local garden center. Many independent garden centers are looking to clear out perennials. Although it may look like you’re buying a frozen pot of twigs, saavy gardeners know that there’s life in those stems. I recently bought $27.00 hellebores for $6. Although the outer leaves were crispy and tattered, there was plenty of young new growth within. I placed them in my unheated garage near a window. A little occasional watering is all they’ll need. Come spring, I’ll trim off any unsightly leaves and plant them outside where they’ll be just fine. Local garden centers can offer some great deals. And if there are no perennials left, then maybe you can find a new houseplant to help you weather the winter cold!
