As we near the end of another year and welcome a new one.... a thought in retrospection....🌴
I woke up this morning and realized how blessed we are by having the privilege of doing ‘repeated business’ and what those words mean.
It is not just the monetary gain it brings to have work, sure, this is always welcomed, but what it truly means is, you made an impression when you served a client the first time, satisfied them, made them happy and most important, gained their trust enough so that they’ll call you a couple of times after the first to cater some more. That is a blessing! We take pride in that!
But to enjoy this blessing, not only you first have to earn their trust, you also have to cherish and proof yourself worthy of their trust, again and again. Integrity is key.
After 31 years in business, when we look back, it’s not only ‘doing business as usual’ that matters, it’s about being fully commited to fullfill a client’s requests and make them happy. Making people happy matters!
Sure, we’ve sacrificed many occasions when our own personal time, our family time, specially weekends, do to the nature of our job, has been put aside because we had to cater, prepare an event, a wedding, etc. Many stressful nights and days planning the perfect party. Still....it has all been worth it!!!
When a prior client calls, it brings so much joy and sense of accomplishment that it is hard to describe. It happened yesterday with a very special family (I’ll keep their identity private) so today I felt compelled to express our satisfaction, when I visited them to plan their party, it felt like family. I so much appreciated their trust in my judgement and suggestions, not many questions asked, simply allowed me to handle details based on their requests but with the confidence that they know we’ll put our hearts & knowledge into it to make it happen one more time.
After 31 ‘proud’ years in business, eventually, of course 😄 we’ll close shop for good, one day in the near future, we don’t have a clue yet when it will be our last party, our clients are making it difficult for us to decide when since they keep calling us 😄. Till then, we’ll continue to do our very best to ‘repeat’ our gold standard of quality service, the personal touch service, that has proudly earned us our ‘repeated business’ status, not an easy task. Many businesses consider success when they have many different clients, yes, that is partly true, but to reach the ‘repeated business’ status you have to work for it even harder, to gain your client’s trust, not once but multiple times thereafter, this, IS success. To have conviction that you know what you are doing without being overly confident and mess up, it is proper balance and always keeping respect for your client....we are grateful we’ve known the difference.
