2024 Year in Review. Besides live entertainment, we also take care of the building. The new c*c was installed and can be used for showing videos! We also had inspections for the elevator, the fire alarms, the sprinkler system, repaired the gutters, cleaned about 50 filters, updated the geo thermal software for heating/cooling and more!

2024 Year in Review. 13 Live entertainment events, from tribute bands for CCR, Simon & Garfunkel to Celtic Music, to 70s Rock music, and to Madagascar Jr and the Christmas Cantata!. we gave away 72 comp tickets to veterans, performers families, agents, fundraisers for cancer and to FFA for helping us out!

Thank you Beth Waddle ! The Corning Opera House honors you because you were instrumental in the restoration 2010-12. Beth spent countless hours fundraising, writing grants and working with contractors! She was an unstoppable force that kept the project moving forward. Her experience and wisdom were a significant contribution! We will miss you!

Southern Hills Veterinary Services Dr. Ryan Shuey imported much wisdom from his many experiences of working and living on a farm. Jake McVey Thank you! for entertaining us with your impressive guitar playing and coming to rural southwest Iowa!👍

Hey, What is a cantata you ask? It's a musical story. How Should a King Come? is based on the expectations of the arrival of Jesus as King with lots of Christmas music - including a portion of Handel's Messiah! This cantata will be sung by community members ages high school through adult, directed by De Heaton and performed the first weekend in December. Rehearsals are Sunday & Thursday evenings from 7 - 8:15 pm at the opera house. This cantata has about 50 minutes of music to learn with 4 part harmony - soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. The various parts will be learned with piano, but the performance will be sung with a full orchestra accompaniment CD. The music features many different styles from classical, to gospel, and rock!
