💠 Catacombs is back.

This Saturday, March 30th at 8PM, see the second and improved iteration of the strange-tundra opera Anethemas.

💨 Written using sounds of ice, 🧊 wind, choir and other tundric sounds, the soundscape of Anethemas is like nothing you’ve heard before. 🌲

Interpreted by five lovely dancers 💃through a mix of choreographed and improvisational movement, the room will again be surrounded with ice chunks and the opera will go on at the very start.

Remember Pulsar Baths? 🕯️

Catacombs... What was that?

Well, Catacombs is a hyper immersive art event featuring the stranger side of art.

Catacombs both brings together creatives, supports local artists, and features an artistically provacative piece of art to shake the soils of the Bay Area and touch again it's weirder roots.

This one, we had a tundric opera.
The next one, something stranger.

Written by ice composer, vocalist & writer "Xxhe" at the age of seventeen, the opera was scored using primarily sounds of ice, wind. The instruments you heard were derived or inspired by the organic sounds.

Xxhe's voice narrated the show.

The music you heard were Xxhe's first compositions.

This was part 1 of the opera. Part 2 will feature at another Catacombs.

This was the first iteration and extremely low budget. There is currently a gofundme page to fund turning the opera into an experimental, psychadelic, dream sequence film.

At this Catacombs you may have noticed the venue decorated to frozen highs with chunks of ice and alien food, all elements directly born by the ice opera. At Catacombs, the entire event is taken over by the theme breathed by the featured piece of art.
