Groton Avenue Closed - Local Traffic Only

As a reminder, due to the construction work being done on Groton Ave, the road is closed to thru traffic. Local traffic only is allowed at this time.

Crews have reported that many vehicles have been using this street beyond this restriction, and that many vehicles passing through are traveling at unsafe speeds for both them and the workers in the area.

Please do not use Groton Ave unless you are traveling to an address located on Groton Ave, or if you are going to a business in the area.

We realize the influx in traffic is due to SUNY Cortland move in activities, but thought a reminder would be helpful.

Gift Card Scams!

There has been a recent increase in scams involving phone calls from people attempting to collect a debt, fine, or receive bail payments. These scammers often pose as people of authority from agencies such as the IRS, Social Security, or Law Enforcement, and request that victims submit payments by going to the store, purchasing gift cards, and then supplying the gift card codes / pins to the scammer to pay the fine / debt.

Do not fall victim to these scams!

If you have questions involving a situation like this, or if you are contacted, call your local police agency.

The Cortland Elks donated $2000 (through a grant) to the Cortland Police K-9 Program.

Due to the Groton Ave Parking lot construction we are changing our hours. We will be open Tuesday through Saturday 4:00-8:00 and Sunday 2:00-6:00. The hope is that the construction workers will be done for the day and the parking lot will be more accessible. These hours will be effective 6/4 and until further notice. Thank you for understanding.

The Cortland Elks hosted a co****le tournament on April 27 to help support our local veterans. Today Spence and Patty donated $350 to the Cortland DAV Van Fund. These vans help transport veterans to doctor appointments and hospital visits. Thanks to everyone who participated in this event.
